Ayy that's a pretty interesting look into things. With that in mind, transparency might be what's needed to keep people from coming up with their own incorrect guesses on what's going on when no contact is made for such a long time. Because that does seem understandableQuote from Tecness2I'm a guy who doesn't work for SE/Stickpage and simply has had contact with Brock since, well almost since I started. Also, I'm in Ontario, not Alberta.
Now, I'm going to make this really simply for those having trouble grasping why I said keep me updated;
Discussion is fine, but this section (This is partially my fault, I know) has this whole problem with staying on topic. If you actually stated entirely on topic, I could quickly read posts/bugs, and then tell Brock about them, if it was that easy. It's not. It's also not really my job, as I've said. I'm doing it to be nice, so if it's difficult for me, why the hell would I do it?
I'm sure it took a lot of developer hours, it was the number one project (I think) at a time after all. but let me give you an example of something similar. World Of Warcraft was blizzard's biggest game and money maker for a long long ass time. The playerbase was dropping, slowly but steadily. There were losing a good portion of their revenue. They had enough people working on that game to pull some to try to create/quicken other games in order to get back some of their revenue. As a result, Heroes Of The Storm & Overwatch both came out. If CJ & Brock & Winston(I think) had more people, I'm sure they would have left some on the game to do regular maintenance while they work on their next big project, but there wasn't. I understand what you're saying, but that's not what happened. Their Flash version became outdatted, assholes kept making stupid hacks/clients, life took priority (CJ had a kid a while ago), they lost the time to actually fix main problems of the game, and it literally became more difficult to do so because of Flash, all the while, the playerbase was steadily declining. IF they were to fix every single bug, right now, how many more people do you think would start playing? My guess, 100 tops. They would have to put more money into advertising the game. You could make the argument that CJ could just do it on his site(s), but that would mean he is losing money from third party ad revenue, thus meaning this game that might get another 100 after all the advertisements, is costing him more money.
What some may say greedy, I say, it's a business, it's designed to make money, it's also their job, so they have to live off the money it makes.
Oh and also, at it's peak, this game had increased the active stickpage community size by about, 30, maybe 40(Guessing).

Quote from alternateI don't see how this section not staying on topic matters. We have two threads dedicated to problems with game, both of which stay on topic, yet seem totally ignored. So I don't get this logic.
I totally get the issues CJ and team face with SE, it just would be nice for them to stop charging people for a broken game and be honest about SE- what you see is all you are going to get.
I don't think either of those are unreasonable.
Quote from Tecness2Well, go and count the useless posts on one of those threads, then come back. Or just keep reading, the past 2.5 pages (pages 200-202, 25 posts in total) 18 of them, are completely and utterly useless. About 7 of them are a discussion about gmail. You still think this section not staying on topic matters?

Myst, reputable player, reports a bug. You dismiss him. I point out that exact same bug, including some of the mechanics of said bug.
That is three of the comments on that page. One worthless one is Ai, another admin. Ase is a bunch of them, who appears now finally banned.
There are a lot of not hard to find, serious bug reports in just a few pages. Even when you see them, it seems you just ignore them though.
