Basically, me vs thegazzy0. So yeah, playing the match, micro battles, a decent battle where I win and have a pretty big advantage over him. As I'm attacking him and about to crush him, he pauses the game. I wait 30 seconds or so, then decide to unpause. He pauses straight away. I unpause. After several pauses, the unpause button just wouldn't work. So I remember reading about this somewhere on the forums. Rather than sit mindlessly at a computer for a while in a battle of will, nor did I want to surrender to an exploiter like him, I went out and ate a snack then came back, just as he unpaused LOL. Anyhow, I beat him, but come on, pause exploit, really?
My request for pause change:
-Only 2 or 3 pauses allowed per match.
-Some sort of restriction time limit to stop instant un-pausing, for when you say, have to quickly go to the bathroom or something. I don't know. But say, 30 seconds?
Anyhow, shame on YOU thegazzy0, for trying to pause to piss me off and make me surrender and not showing good sportsmanship. And even more shame because I ended up winning anyway.

EDIT: I'm just wondering about Out Of Sync. I've out of sync'd several times as well near the beginning but I think it might be me...how do you out of sync? (No specific details needed, I'm not going to try, but like, yeah)

Well, to understand what an OOS is and how to induce it, you'd have to understand RTS design. In order for the RT part of RTS to be implemented without mountains of lag, a game is actually simulated in 3 different locations: your client, your opponent's client, and the server, which holds the authoritative simulation. Every once in a while the server sends down it's authoritative copy and all clients are synced to that copy. In between these intervals though, client prediction code is needed to sort of fill in the gaps, similar to animation tweening, but accounting for all those obnoxious network programming issues. I'd assume an OOS error is the most dreaded naturally occurring bug to run into when developing an RTS, simply because it sounds horrifying to debug and fix (someone correct me here if I'm wrong). Basically, if one of those copies goes WAY out of sync in their simulation (like, for example, if some cheap bastard wanted to spawn in 5 giants using CheatEngine), an OOS error happens.
As for how it's done, I have no idea, but I can't imagine it'd take anything that requires much skill. For example, going into CheatEngine and mucking with some of the values would probably cause an OOS.
