This is never going to be made.
Yeah it will.

It might take a long time, but we'll get it done. I finished my hydralisk instructions, didn't I?

In the meantime, I've been learning more physics stuff, which should come in handy for making this game. :) Collision detection is what I'm most unsure about, but I should be able to figure it out.

i think that it should be more like the game LittleBigPlanet with more of an easily customizable interface and different connectors like screws and axles with more of an open ended gameplay than, say, interactive buddy. with interactive buddy, after you got everything, there isn't much to do. this game shouldn't just be oriented on using the unlocked items for a little bit until the next thing unlocked just makes it obsolete. Each unlocked item should have a creative quality to it that is unique and can be used in many different ways. like the stage levels shouldn't just unlock weapons, it should unlock new elements to the gameplay like motors that can be used to power cylinders which can be assembled to roll a cart with spikes on the front into the ragdoll. now that's probably asking too much, but focusing having open ended gameplay would make it that much more enjoyable.

I certainly agree. I'm thinking of how in Cave Story, each weapon that you got had a different purpose, so getting a new one wouldn't make an old one obsolete. That's definitely a good thing to keep in mind while designing a game like this - thanks for reminding me.

Also, LittleBigPlanet looks really awesome - I hadn't thought of it before in relation to this game, but now that you mention it, I should watch some gameplay videos again for inspiration. Thanks. :)

Axcho, since Big Bang left SPP, will you still be able to work on this?

Go away6. Seriously. I'm pretty sure there are enough people that have posted in this thread saying, "This will be good if it will be made."

He left? That's too bad... But it shouldn't be too much of a problem. It was originally just a project between me and Exilement anyway.

SoulEater, that was really unnecessary. Alpha23 didn't say anything bad, and those animations were all made less then six months ago. The thread wasn't even started until June of this year.

Please resist the urge to make snappy comments at people in this thread, however new and inarticulate they may be. Checking your facts before you post them may help.

Yeah, I wish I had some actual screens and demos to show you, so you'd have something to read and talk about besides the occasional newbie's passing remarks. I think once we get started we can create a separate thread strictly for discussion of the game design, that might help.

I guess I should ask you, what sort of discussion would you like to see in this thread? If I know what people are looking for, I might be able to do something toward that end.

Discussion about the interface would be nice. I don't think any of us have any knowledge of what this is gonna look like in the end. Most of the coments are about stuff already mentioned, so yeah...
