Have anyone tried different opening? 1 sword and miners is a bad idea when fighting against Chaos unless you have enough skill to pull it off.
They are relatively balanced.

Giants do AOE. You'd have to constantly move back. If the Chaos player just left their deads next to the giant, both would die at around the same time. 1v1, Deads beat albowtrosses and are cheaper. Check the wiki if you don't believe me on this stuff. fhtrg is right.
