What happened to Stickpage Portal? And FluidAnims and Shitlimits? What is TAP?


Also, I like the Dojo so far, but I hope it doesn't replace SP. This website has been here for as long as I can remember.

Fluidanims merged with SP, we are now one. Dojo is NOT a replacement for SP.
TAP, TheAnimPlanet, used to be another animation website run by Dannyplatinum I guess. It closed down a while ago.

And what about Shift Limits? Also the Stickpage Portal seems pretty broken, it's just 3 links that don't seem to go anywhere. :P

Jeff changed Shitflimits to Doubleframed, which failed due to his partners lack of interest. When Hyun contacted him about the Dojo he used the things he had already developed for Doubleframed to make the Dojo. So Shiftlimits became the Dojo, sort of.

Oh ok, everyone seems to know all this already. :P Been away a while. :) Glad to be back though. :D

I know the question's already been answered but there was a thread about SL sometime ago and if you're really out of the loop then you ought to see it. It's also incidentally on-topic as it explains the beginnings of The Dojo. Yeah basically a long-detailed version of Gunnii's summary.

I misread the title of this thread and thought Hun had made a new doujin.

My mistake.

I'd like to think of the dojo like a middle-man between stickpage and newgrounds. It's a site not limited to one particular type of animation. Stickpage speaks for itself, its a stick figure community. From those who've been on newgrounds, you would see the community prefer fullbody, and are not to keen on stick figures. Hyun's dojo, you can do what you like stick figure or fullbody and I'm sure everyone likes that there. It's in the beginning stages so it will take a while for more fullbody animations to pop u, but with the way thing's have started I have high hopes for that to happen.

Also, hyun's dojo encourages community workload to a higher extent than stickpage do in a way (not saying stickpage don't do good community animation, because they do). With stickpage we make collabs where we all make individual flash files and combine them together, whereas with hyunsdojo you have a group of animators working on one flash file to create something better. Sometimes we lack what others don't, but by putting this together were able to accomplish a lot more. These are just minor differences between the sites.

All I can say is to have a proper judgement, give it time. Nothing's ever at it's full potential at it's beginning stages. But Hyun's my buddy so ima support that Asian dude (in an unbiased fashion of course).
