Egyptians believed, in the ancient greek and roman empire they believed, in south-east asia you've got buddhists and Hindu's (Did I spell that right?)!

im going to start by saying my theory is very weird/probably unlikely but it is how things make sense to me/

first: you keep asking "why would he make us this" or "why did he make us do that" i think we've done it ourselves, and he is just watching to see how things play out.

my theory is that every other planet is a "failed attempt" at making a beings live with each other peacefully.

i think of him as a.. lets say a watch maker, he put time sweat and perseverance into a creation, just to see it go off. he may never see it again but it still lives on. keeps ticking. i think maybe he made us, to the best of his ability, and waited to view errors, or problems in ourselves that have made the world a terrible place/ i.e poverty,animal cruelty, etc..

and once he's discovered a mistake hes made he creates something new, a new planet, another attempt at making something truly perfect. much like we do with out flash/pivot/ez toons. we strive to be better, and he does too, to make a better place for his creations to inhabit.

mabye others think the same way i do, maybe not. but thats why i believe to be neutral in this topic, i believe he is there, but i dont think he is perfect, and i dont think he listens to our prayers. but he sits, and watchs, takes notes. moves on.


i believe there is a god for one reason, and one reason only.

think of there never being anything. nothing at all, you cant, because the least you think of is blackness, but it comes from something which comes from something before that and so on. i have no idea why we exist, and for those who think the "big bang theory" what caused the bang? what did that come from? and that had to come from something too.

i think you'll find that "god" refers to any god/gods in any known religion. i guess this is a debate on religion itself being as the focal point of religion is based upon the omnipotent being of its faith. discussing such a being is basically discussing religion itself.

well i thought we were discussing both monotheistic and polytheistic religions. i guess most have the same views at heart anyway, except for the romans and greeks, theyre just crazy.

and as ive been reading the god delusion by richard dawkins, id like to come to one of his points -
there is no evdence in either direction, there is only belief of the existance, and of the non existance of God. the rest boils down to probability. and one of the things McGrath states in that link i gave you is how improbable the human eye is, and surely there has to be a creator. But then Dawkins quite rightly states the even more unproable existance of a highly more complicated being such as a god. just something to think on. and yes, due to that book i am now an agnostic, more inclined to atheism.but somehow there is still some religious part of me inside.
