Andddd normally AP mages scale well with levels while ADC's scale better with items.. so you stick the ap mage mid so they can soak up more exp and since they're normally assassin's they can easily roam and gank the other lanes. While for AD's the level isn't AS important so you usually stick him with the support so they can get exp together and the supp can help the ad in the early game so they don't get killed so easily.

First game in ranked went 6/1/9 as volibear.

I went 4/2/3 as Pantheon on my first ranked. It was total horror. Outplays everywhere.

We won, also in the second ranked game, but in the third - fifth, we lost because of one guy who happens to feed every fucking time.

Not doing ranked till I get better.

5/10 games in provisionals.

It's way better than how I did on my first provisionals so it's k.

In some ways I was even better than I was right now back when I did my provisionals, just because I tried so hard to do well. I played Lux every time mid, and I'd ward the enemy's blue every time and steal it with my ult when I could. I'd win teamfights not by trying to get as many kills as possible, but by hitting all five of them with my ult and winning through the sheer damage dealt and letting everyone else finish them off.

Now I can't play Lux much in a game of so much mobility and zero-counterplay assassins

Well his ultimate is pretty situational and requires imagination.

While champions like ziggs just have a "FUCK YOU LOADS OF DAMAGE" ultimate.
