No utility but that with that w he can escape from most ganks pretty friggin ridiculously even without his ult. Most champs without their ults are also easy to kill, while some doesn't even need their ult to be killed easily. They need to increase the cd on his w and ult higher imo.

All I have to say is that it's a sad day to be a Zed main :C. He is a bit too mobile but that's what makes him fun af to play. Where's this katarina nerf at though. Zed can't really nuke whole teams like she can.

Honestly, ever since I've been playing a lot of gold players. I haven't really had a hard time with Katarina. Because everyone's figured out her range and all the techniques I use on Zeds ultimate are even more easily done on Kat which is her primary nuke.
Seriously Lulu's ultimate is Kat kryptonite.

If she nukes us we usually deserve it.

All the strengths you mentioned about zed are right, but unlike most other assassins he can take on only one champion at a time. He ults someone, kills them, done. He's practically useless unless he gets some help from his team and last hits, unlike akali who can keep jumping on everyone all the time. Besides his W CD is already high enough, in fact it's one of the highest cool downs on a non ultimate ability, and it takes 1 second for the shadows to reach full range.
