hey guys, i didn't put this in the initial rules, but intentionally abusing glitches is not allowed. this includes things like: bugging out the opposing CA with a held sword to get range on miner, infini jumping a charrog, and double tornado casting. i understand sometimes things happen that are unintentional, but if people intentionally abuse these kinds of glitches, in the sole opinion of myself (assuming the other party complains), those games will be labelled as a loss for the glitcher.

Let me put in this way

I did not abuse glitches by intention

but double tornado is a big problem for elemental players like me

Because when I have a couple of cycloids, if I cast spell fast with hotkeys, it just appear double tornados, and it is really difficult to control (especially when those cycloids are in opponents' base)
You can have a try on it on opponents' base and test it, and see how it will work.
Think about it, if I am order players and have magkills in opponents' base, when I cast spell, I must press hotkeys to cast spell fast enough for it to work, otherwise it will miss.
Frankly speaking, I don't think anyone will cast their spell slowly one by one if he is a top player.

Same situation for cycloids, if I cast it fast, then double tornados appear. If I cast it slowly one by one, it just slows my reaction and is useless, and is also a disadvantage to me too.
So if I am forced to cast spells slowly, I don't think I need a cycloid in my situation.....

No offence or have intention to break rules, I am willing to accept loses if my opponents can beat me fairly
but you know, in this game, many situations are difficult to prevent, including glitches, game freeze and laggy (which I suffered a lot from it during matches with khan, but I did not say anything and just accept that)
I hope you understand my situation, and if available, give me some suggestions.

WyzDM VS Pandarus and WyzDM vs Chaos matches will be uploaded shortly with commentary.
Props to Drizzle for helping me with it. There may be a lack of energy as it was recorded quite late at night.

An important message: the top 4 will need to appear for finals on Sunday June 8th on 12:00 PM EST. This is to finish the event and stream your matches. Further details will be provided once players have been confirmed for placement and the stream schedule is in order.

Stream Channel will be my own, http://www.twitch.tv/wyzdm

If you have any questions about the tournament thus far or what events will likely be taking place this weekend, please contact chaos or myself through whatever means necessary; SP inbox, IRC, Enjin, etc. Finish those matches (looking at you Group 5) so I can proper accommodate the names of the top 4 to properly set things up for Sunday!

the final 4 (wyzdm, chaos, khan, curiousturtle) should all be on by 11:30 so we can coordinate any last details.

the format of the finals will not be a group round robin. i think i told most people this, but maybe not all... anyway, it will be a double elimination bracket, which is far better at not having ties :) once everyone is on tomorrow, ill flip a couple coins to decide who plays who.

each set will be a best of 5 series, except for the final game, which will be a winner take all, 7 game series, in which the winner's bracket winner gets 1 free game (so they start up 1-0). i don't think we will have time for the traditional double elim format where if the loser's bracket winner beats the winner's bracket winner, you have to do an entire new set - so i made this one modification to the standard double elim format. also, note that DSR will not be in effect, as these are 5 game sets.

it was a little chaotic so instead of streaming, we will be commentating the games and posting them. it was a good final round. heres how it went:

round 1:
khan defeats wydzm 3-1
chaos defeats curiousturtle 3-1

round 2:
winners bracket - khan defeats chaos 3-1
losers bracket - wyzdm defeats curiousturtle 3-1

round 3:
losers bracket - wyzdm defeats chaos 3-1

round 4:
winners bracket - wyzdm defeats khan 4-2

results:
1st place - wyzdm (TZ)
2nd place - khan (SoS)
3rd place - chaos (SoS)
4th place - curiousturtle (ET)

congrats to the winners! and thanks to everyone for playing! i realize this took more coordination than people expected, but i really appreciate everyone stepping up to get it done. almost all the sets were played in round 1, 21 of 24 i think it was - the sets not played were mostly between people who already lost, which is totally understandable. in round 2, all sets got played except 1 guy dropped out without warning, he is the only player who dropped off the map all tournament - that means 15 out of 16 people stuck around and got it done! in round 3, all the players showed up on time and we powered through 25 games in a little over 3 hours.

as i said in the first post, if this went well, this would be the first in our tournament series. because this was a major success, we will be continuing to host more tournaments in the future! the next one will most likely be a 1 day event, so it is easier to coordinate, even though it does not allow as many people to participate. if anybody has any comments or suggestions, we'd love to hear them! it was great to have so much interest in this tournament - 16 people participated - and MANY more signed up or wanted to sign up, they just didn't catch the SP post in the first day or two, which is all it took to fill up.

thanks again for playing, and for making this tournament a big success! to anybody looking to enter the competitive stick empires scene, the best way to get better is to join a clan and get some practice against some of the game's finest players. SoS and TZ (your tournament hosts) are both highly competitive, respectable clans - give them a look! or, you can just come hang out in our chat rooms, and find some games. once again, here are the chat rooms for these two fine clans:
SoS - http://qwebirc.swiftirc.net/?channels=#sos-chat
TZ - http://qwebirc.swiftirc.net/?channels=#team-zenith

Although I'm a bit regretful for not being able to join in this, congratulations to all who had stuck to this until it's end. Major props to wyz and chaos for hosting this. This took lots of dedication.
