EDIT: Evo, that's the rep system. Not gonna happen.
No, it's like a postcount, the more you post with proper grammar the more your smartness goes up. If you misspell something your smartness goes down. FacePunch has it, go over there and post over there to get a fell for it, they got the BEST forum add-ons.

Also, yes sticky this shit.

I wanted to know what the people think.

Also, keep this "shit" clean. If I see something shining like a complaint ... *shakes fist*

Seems like that would suck. Let's say I mentioned Embarq High Speed Internet. The word "Embarq" would bring down my smartness? Not cool. Not cool at all.

EDIT: I mean, I like to make up words. A lot. Like "Deoxyribonucleus", or "Inebriator" (my CB handle). But since they're not actual words, they'd count as misspellings. That's always been my problem with a spelling/grammar based automated rep system.

I suggest ban through number of times one person has been reported for spam/flaming/trolling/advertising/etc. That means if someone really wants to ban someone, if they get, say 30-20 ACCEPTED AND REASONABLE reports (not just stalking them and reporting every post because they piss you off, yes I'm talking about you Jawz), that's one week ban. 3 times total of 1 week ban and you're IP banned, with no chance of repealing your ban to anyone.

Not if you adjust the filters right. FP has it so like names of things aren't misspelled, how they do it I have no clue.

Clean shit, lol

Could work. There could be some kind of system where a button appears in the report, where a mod could confirm or cancel a report. Basically, if someone reports something, a mod looks at that post, and if the report is legit and reasonable, the mod can hit confirm. If it's just bullshit from someone who wants to report every one of a certain member's posts, the mod could click cancel, and it'd delete the report. As soon as enough reports are confirmed, that member is automatically banned.

EDIT: Yes, Chimaera. We did. I miss Fusion.

That wouldn't work because everybody has a different idea of what's breaking the rules and what isn't. You would need some kind of full-proof mod verification. Plus if we used that, 2-D would be banned by now.

EDIT: SoY's idea could work.

That's a good idea, and basically what I was thinking of. A button for allowing the report, and getting rid of it. But what I think should happen is if the report is turned down for bullshit the person should get an infraction, so that there aren't just people reporting everything because the person getting reported said something to piss them off. Even though that's a bit harsh, it's stupid to report every post of someone who's just annoying, because not only does it increase post count, it makes the mods have to delete more threads in the "batcave".

Edit: @Dudeman:

I know about that part of it, but it's obvious if someone is breaking the rules or not. And plus, 2-D is a kind of exception, in a way. I hate to say it, but he's probably the only person that you can't really ban for spam unless it's really bad. He's just the forum spammer, it's always been that way.

Knew it.
A smiley bank wouldnt hurt much, yknow, a place where you can add your own smilies, like on MSN, it'd stop people whining about how the smilies are bad and whatnot/

That's not a bad idea but I think that instead of giving them an infraction, it should add to their report points.
