Heyo, I spent like 2 hours putting this together as a physical game.
There's lots of flaws in the game design and plenty of room for improvement.
It's solid but it's pretty one-way right now.
The turning points for cards and strategies would need to rely on the Passives and Actives provided, and how the player uses them.
Requires a 6 sided die, two players, and each player to have at least 3 cards.
By default each player has a base of 20HP, this number can be increased if you wish to play longer or larger games.
If the opponent has more cards than you, you're allowed to have more HP by 3 per card they outnumber you by.
-
Players may also consider using bottle-caps or chips to place on cards that have used their actives.
A player can have 3 cards on the battlefield at the same time.
However player can only have up to 3 Actives or 3 Passives on the field Maximum.
-
You are allowed to use more than one Gladiator if you own duplicates of them,
but only up to a maximum of 3 of the same RHG in your deck is allowed.
When the game starts, each player draws 3 cards from their deck and lays them down in any setup they so wish.
The Front Row is where you place either cards you want to attack or to defend.
The Back Row is where you put your ability or support.
-
note; It is common courtesy to place your cards facing the opponent so they can read them.
The player with the most overall Versatility starts first.
If Versatility is at a draw, each player picks 3 numbers out of 6, and a single die roll is used.
If you are the provider of the dice, the opponent picks his numbers first.
If you draw a card from your deck, you must either discard it, or pick a card on your side of the battlefield to exchange it with, discarding it.
In order to lower the Opponent's HP you must bypass their defenses.
Attack, Ability, or using an Active are the only ways to lower their HP.
As long as they have a card in the front row, you must attack that one.
-
you can attack using Attack.
The card of whom you attack's Defense is subtracted from your Attack.
The remaining number(if any) is then subtracted from their HP.
If a single card is attacked by you twice using the Attack Stat, it's Defense is halved.
-
You can attack using Ability.
The card of whom you attack's Versatility is subtracted from your Ability.
The remaining number(if any) is then subtracted from their HP.
If you attack using Ability and inflict damage,
your attacking card's Ability will be halved for the next turn.
-
You can attack by Activating the Card's Power
Each Active varies per card.
If it relies on Defense to do damage, it'll be countered by Attack.
If it relies on Versatility to do damage, it'll be countered by Ability.
On each turn, a player can only make one action, so make each action count!
