... i dunno if this post is useful but if i hear cards, why don't make an online game where you get a starter pack and you battle people and get points.
with those points, you buy more packs and you win more and stuff.
and you can have different RHG powers as cards, weapons and more things.
and there are base cards that have 3 attacks or something.
Kinda like the pokemon TCGO
(is this even a good idea?)

EDIT: Who played the ninja'd card?!

A prize system works greatly in most trading card games, but I think it should be optional, especially if you value all of your cards but still want to play.
That's just my two cents though as an expert card game player.

To keep RHG's from getting to 'OP' we could also instate no more than 3 cards can be used in a legit battle.

That way, animators won't be concerned about being completely underpowered because they don't own cards against someone who does. Yet, they can still battle them and earn some themselves.

If you aren't an animator you can acquire them via my stream in giveaways or purchase in packs ( possibly )

But 3 cards wont net you guys much profit, will there be decks with spells/item like card that you can use on the RHG characters you play?
Example: Fllffl's jet sword flavor text "Worst. Sword. Ever." but actually make it the best sword in the game.

Technically, you won't lose a card.

You will both agree on a card or card(s?) that you want ( they don't have to be the same card )
Then they both animate their RHG.

Whoever wins the RHG will win the card they wanted shipped by me. The players don't lose cards in this instance. So you don't have to worry about shipping cards to another and what not.

Some cards will have actives, some passives.

For instance, a passive card might allow your hero to heal a certain amount on hit.
Active, can spawn 3 plasma punches 2 times per animation.

So this is the type of game only animators can play?

Well then, I can see I'm not needed here.

For now, the animators are the ones who can take use of the perks on the cards of course. In the future we'll consider making it into a online trading card MMO if the popularity is there.

Owning the cards then might send you some sort of code you can use to get them in-game.

Otherwise you can still earn / collect them for their value in artistic appeal or to simply collect.

You just wouldn't be earning them via animation battle.

I think it's a good idea to leave it open for expansion at any time. I'm sure you are of course, but just sayin'.

That's how Magic the gathering rakes in those phat Benjamins.

I also setup the poll wrong as well. One option should be No, but I'd like to collect ( for non-animator or non-rhg participants )

I hate to be downing your enthusiasm but I feel like Oxob with this. RHG has always appealed for is simplicity to me.

Hopefully it wont hinder any animation creativity when the majority of the community owns the ALFA card and features jet boosting in every single RHG animation.

This is a bit of a concern too. Considering rhg is only limited by your imagination, adding something like these seems to undermine that. I still really like the rhg system (and systems like it elsewhere) so I'd rather it not be tampered with.

I like the cards, but I feel that if you want to implement them it would be better in a new system (so along with rhg and speed battles there'd be a third kind of battle), so you can really run with the concept without worrying about putting people off. You could even do it yu-gi-oh style where people summon the rhg's from the cards and battle them. Outside of that, having cards up as prizes for good battles is a nice idea, seeing as livestream giveaways is a bit luck based.

I get your point, it might increase the rate of some popular cards. However, all of this is just to influence some ideas that you can use at your own interpretation. Just like in the GTL. It gives you a starting point for inspiration. It's not like when someone selected Halo they just recreated Halo.

You can showcase using the card infinite amount of ways, as well as utilize the abilities any billions of different ways for even the simplest of abilities.

Heyo, I spent like 2 hours putting this together as a physical game.
There's lots of flaws in the game design and plenty of room for improvement.

It's solid but it's pretty one-way right now.
The turning points for cards and strategies would need to rely on the Passives and Actives provided, and how the player uses them.

I'm impressed rawgreen.

Though I would shy away from using 20 hp as the average, since magic the gathering does that.

I fully support his idea behind the card rarity too, card rarity is crucial to turning up a profit and adding card diversity to the game.

Edit: Also, the dice idea while good, will diminish the competitive viability of the game. Since it adds lots of luck to the game instead of strategic card use. Which isn't necessarily a good or bad thing.

So I have a question... these cards, they would effect you rhg battles DIRECTLY? If so, I really don't like the idea of that. Wouldn't that mean that people with a crap ton of cards have an unfair advantage over others? Haha I don't even know if your planning on doing this still. I didn't read the second page of posts.
