That really doesnt feel fair at all..
But the people that joined GTl agreed with the penalty, So meh.

How does that not seem fair when it was explicitly stated during GTL?

There could be a plethora of answers.
My biggest complaint with the issue is that active members who want to participate cannot because they might have not been able to finish last round due to personal issues. Yet people who don't even show up for months if not longer can show up to make a post in a thread and then receive an award for their participation. It's kinda like shitting on the actual community.

that really does sound unfair if you put it that way.
i would like to add that those who did participated in GTL2 probably are still recovering from the effort put into it, however not to be rude or anything, those who didnt submitted a entry where actually shitting on the competition, giving stone high hopes with the amount of participants, and then not submitting an entry, i do agree with the personal issues thing, but we cannot ask of stone to filter everybody out who did or did not had any personal issues at the moment. i think there is a source of truth in both sentences, just some food for thought.
