View Profile It is semantics, yes, but in the culinary field, it does matter to some extent. Mostly for nutrition purposes, and because part of our job is being able to describe everything we serve people. For example, while American is considered a cheese, by the standards of how cheese is produced and classified, it isn't actually cheese, but vheese product. And typically, because vegetarians are categorized into a spectrum based on what they eat, asking if they would eat a dairy product, be it meat or not by how one defines meat, is an interesting topic to me. For example, for some reason, while fish is treated as a meat, it isn't always categorized as one, which is how the pescatarian division of vegetarians exist. And yes, they're technically vegetarians.
I'd take it a step further and say the way people define things itself that is fascinating.

Is there anywhere I can read more about this?

View Profile Depends on what in particular from that you're interested in, though I could probably find some stuff. I do culinary research all the time.

Depends on what exactly your tastes are, but I've heard fried cicadas are pretty good, and have a bit of a spicy flavor to them. Personally, I've tried grasshopper and ants, and they're not bad. Not a ton of flavor, but the seasoning used on them was good. Bugs tend to be really light snacks, and since they're small and mostly protein, you can't expect much flavor from them themselves. Unless they're not healthy; a lot of uncooked ones can leave a pretty rank taste in your mouth. For example, never eat caterpillars.

Not to be rude, but you did ask for what I thought.
The line work is a tad choppy and her shirt/jacket/top whatever it is could use some linework for definition. Just go back over it and clean up the lines.

Thanks. It would have been better but I did work on it at 2:00 a.m, and only had spent 2 hours on it.
Shirt has little detail because I was focussed on the face and I didn't see a lot of lines that needed to either be thinned, thickened, or erased, and I also had to use a shitty app to draw it.
I'm going to get some much deserved sleep now. See y'all later :)

The major thing that bothers me is that you've added details to the face where there doesn't need to be, mainly the lips. You can get away with only drawing the lines for the top and bottom parts of feminine lips, like this.

That's a way you can do it but you don't have to draw it like that. If you want to go over the lips in detail, make sure they're not so thin and long. Lips are generally larger and thicker. Try to avoid making them so jagged at their edges, it makes them seem unnatural. Also the eyes caught my attention. I don't know if she was wearing some sort of cat's eyes contacts or anything but the pupil shouldn't be in such as shape, they're usually a nice simple circle.
Main thing I can tell you to do is keep practicing and try to experiment with what sort of style you want to do. And don't be afraid to look up how other artists would shape and define a body part, it can be a big help.

View Profile Marriage is about love, affection and a deep understanding of each other. How can you marry someone whom you did not raise as a child?
