I read somewhere that the very first olympic track champion wouldnt even last to the semis these days

Though they will make it first to the finish line in one thing.

Jokes aside this is true. I remember a lecture I had on something related to this and apparently after the first guy who did it (broke what was considered to be the human limit. I forgot his name) that lit a fire under peoples arses and records kept get broken and broken. Now I believe it is held by a guy named Usain Bolt who still hasn't been beat. I wonder at what point our body limitation would just result in a plateau.

EDIT: Though one thing I'm curious about is whether previous records were accurate (obviously not completely accurate, but how much error was involved). Today we have machines that can measure to the -nth power.

They've said that although humans can get better times due to anomaly and just really infentissimal shit, we're eventually going to reach a point where it is not humanly possible to go any faster than the record is set to.

Actually since we're all slowly evolving as an on-going process, I think the chances are we will keep improving. We'll just keep finding new ways to break those barriers.

shut the fuk up nish im sick of you being an indian

like wtf only white people are allowed to be smart

You've actually defeated a lot of the stereotypes I've held about foreigners, Nish. This is weird but I'm drunk, but you actually proved to me that foreigners are smart, but in different ways than us americans are

Hahaha thank you. You have proved to me that all Americans are sentimental faggurtz. Haha.

Nah man, but if I can convince even a handful of people that not all Indians are idiots, I can die happy because sometimes even I feel that way.

Spice based diet, evolved in tropical weather, high amount of body hair and a low(er) emphasis on personal hygiene because of a sudden shift from agricultural society to a modern one.

Which once again leads me to remind you plebs that Mayweather vs Pacquiao is in 5 days.

Salt, all this religious stuff reminds me of this:

I'm not a fan of boxing but this match is something no real man can miss, unless on a more manly quest.

The video you showed has some good messages, although I do disagree with the way he presents religion. Religion is a lot more complicated and deep than just a tool to keep control of people. For example, I read about this experiment were they would "dare" an atheist to tell god to kill his family. Despite not believing, he/she still wouldn't do it. In fact despite being not religious in general, most people still have some sort of reconciliation with the super natural or divine, whether it's real or not. It's part of human nature to attempt to explain what we can't in any way, and make hopes and lose fears based on that. That along with social norms, time period, environment, and a lot of other factors have led to, are part of, and will remain a part of any religion or social system or belief for a long time.

At least the use of bidet in your country have been popularized since british colonial days.
(Shame i can't get a real idea of how much, i live in one of the bidet countries par excellence, and could simple take for granted that the majority of the non-third countries are provided of bidets in their bathrooms if i wanted to.
about India, I think there is a fair chance that if one lives outside suburbia doesn't own a bidet)

I wonder if waxing your ass region instead of shaving will prevent irritating stubble after the first few days.

I imagine they wouldn't do it just out of principle. I wouldn't. Believe in god or not, it's just not something that should be said.

As an atheist myself, i agree. In some ways, religion could be used as a tool to control people, but those are only very few religions, most of which were long into the past. Christianity is probably my favorite religion to believe in, but i just don't believe in it. Religion is usually not really a tool to control people, it's more or less a guideline to a good way of life. And believe it or not, a lot of religions weren't even meant to be taken literally. Christianity was actually meant to be a story of morals to follow, and just that. There was actually a name for people who took it literally and thought all of it was real. They're called "fundamentalists" and the reason you never hear it now is because it's getting merged with Christianity in whole. That's why i choose to be atheist, to establish that i don't take religion literally, while still following Christian morals, not because the bible tells me to, but because it's a nice way of living. And yeah religion is more deep for those who believe it. I probably wouldn't tell god to kill my parents. Even though I'm atheist, and even though if god were real he probably wouldn't do it just because i asked him, i still wouldn't ask him. Honestly i have no specific proof that There isn't any higher power out there. i mean of course there's the fact that it's all physically impossible, but other than that. So i really just don't wanna take that chance in accidentally killing my parents. And as for the match, i might actually have a manlier quest. When the match again?

a) Don't make statements along the lines of "religion is usually not used to control people".

b) Never supplement a point with "There is no scientific proof that there isn't a God".

c) Do not say "most religions were never meant to be taken literally."

d) Never imply that people don't hear the word "fundamentalist" anymore when in fact the word is more used now than ever before in the past, or imply that the word fundamental is now synonymous with Christian, when the media is actually associating it increasingly with Muslims.

e) Do not ask when the most hyped match of modern times is when it is actually a google search away.

Consider yourself taught.
