that's kind of the same thing, not a real attempt addressing why the specific issue shouldn't be talked about anymore, but just an obvious "hey i see there's an argument. i'm not in it, but obviously i'm in the superior position, because the simple fact that they're arguing makes them all stupid/uncivilized/negative adjective."
have you guys ever noticed that whenever there's a big off-topic argument in a thread, as soon as gets drawn out and finally starts to settle, there always has to be this one smarmy, "i'm better than all of you", spectating douchebag who comes in and posts something like "look at what you guys did, you seriously argued about so and so? Pah, you silly idiots. How petty! Look at yourselves! That argument was so pointless and you are just silly, here's a sarcastic and joking exaggeration of what happened." Holy shit, shut the fuck up you smug dickhead. Every fucking time. "itt: silly people argued a silly thing. (Wow, I'm so much better than everyone even though I wasn't even here when this thing happened. I have no side or real opinion, just smug meta-commentary about the act of arguing itself.)" It's such a ridiculously safe way to look better than literally everyone who participated in a disagreement by saying that they were stupid just for disagreeing and making a big deal over it. It's so safe that it happens every fucking time by different dickheads around the world. They all had the douchey idea to grab that chance at looking better than everyone who just finished actually racking their brains writing the best arguments they could about something that concerned them. It takes no intelligent thought and is completely undeserved; it's an obvious opportunity to not even kick people while they're down, but to give the illusion that you are kicking them while they're down.
