To be honest I personally prefer that the Japs changed, and in fact the entire world is or has changed in this direction. From brutal warriors to more peaceful, caring, and loving humans. I think that's what separates us from animals, the fact that to us it is becoming less and less about the survival of the fittest and more about giving everyone a fair chance at life and a good one at that too.
