So, Bloodborne has been an amazing play so far. I've only gotten to play a few times with my schedule, but as a Souls fan, I have to say it appeals to me deeply. I've managed to kill two bosses in the time I've gotten to play (Cleric Beast and Father Gasciogne), and I'm looking forward to murdering the rest.

I gotta say, the amount of blood in the game is mildly disturbing, in that I've begun to completely revel in the slaughter and how bloody my character becomes. A few times, I've become so covered in blood that my outfit no longer has black. My entire outfit is supposed to be black. That should tell you something about how much scarlet I have on me from ripping things' innards out with my bare hand.

Reminds me of that level in Gears of War 2 when you're inside a giant worm and literally cutting it's arteries with a chainsaw attachment on your gun. When you do a roll you come out of the blood pool you're in just completely red.

Dude, you quite literally make their insides outsides using your bare hand. It's wondrous and insane at the same time, and so damn satisfying. Especially since it's called a Visceral Attack. It just leaves this shiver down my spine.

I'm glad it feeds into your non-human nature.

Is it cartoony gore or realistic gore? I am okay with some cartoonish blood in video games but when it really realistic with bowels and innards, it is just disturbing and annoying.....

What's wrong with realistic gore? It's actually more of a pleasant feeling watching your enemies being mutilated in graphic detail rather than them dying in a ridiculously unrealistic manner.

You realize that most of the time the graphically detailed mutilation is at the same time ridiculously unrealistic, right?

...you haven't seen any of the trailers? Or anything relating to it? You didn't even try searching before asking this?

Because yes, it is realistic gore in somewhat unreal proportions.

So this?

Anyway, I was watching a gameplay video and the amount of blood is indeed over the top, enough for incredibly large puddles to form. Though it does add to the whole atmosphere of the game.

doesn't have to be completely anatomically correct, so long as it still looks believable and not anatomically incorrect to the point where it becomes cartoony or comic

Yeah thats what I meant. Like Game of Thrones violence.

I saw the leaked episodes. I think my head is going to explode out of sheer awesomeness.

Have you ever played Gears of War 3? The locust rip the guys arm off and literally start beating him to death with it...Aside from something like the MK series, Gears of War is up there as far as gore goes.
