I didn't like the smoke coming towards the camera either dude, it looked too manufactured, but other than that it looks really cool.

I understand your respect towards Stick animation, you should always maintain that respect as long as you understand that it is time to move on to the next level, unless you have some REALLY special stick figure idea up your sleeve.

So I'm seriously at a crossroads in my life (in a good way), and I think it is time I quit my job and started a business of my own. I think the timing is just right, but I'm not sure if I should do it now or wait out a couple of years before I make the big leap.

If you've thought far ahead and are prepared for anything that comes out from the blue than why not? But i suggest you think very long and hard about this (assuming that you haven't) before you make a final decision. Can't really say much more.

Yes I've thought long and hard, for about a year actually. But I worry that while I wait thinking, the real moment is escaping me. There will never a 'right' time because things keep changing.

Do you have a plan? Is everything set-up and you are prepare to engage in your own business? Simply thinking about it won't do anything if you haven't made preparations.
I can't help you with that :( . You'll have to do your own research and study how the marketing/business of the things around you and where you may spread your business. That's about all i can give on that subject (I don't really know much about business and marketing so i apologize if my response seems half-assed)

Yes I have a plan, I've been working for 10 years very, very successfully and I have a Masters Degree in Business Administration, so I'm not going to start a business without a plan. I have already looked at office space and been making business proposals on what I can offer, and I know the market. I'll be doing something along the lines of Media Production and Innovation anyway. My biggest fear right now is not worthy I will know the business but whether I know myself well enough to run something of that magnitude myself. But I guess those are just jitters that everyone feels. Also, I'll be injecting all my considerable financial savings into this, so there is a voice in my head saying "No you don't have what it takes. Don't blow your money."

No different from when someone is taking a big test. Sure you've studied and you know all the facts but what lingers is that "Can i really do it?" factor. So from what i have read it looks like you're ready to run your own business. But it never hurts to double-check no matter how good you are or how long you've studied. .
(Again i apologize if my response seems half-assed)

Lol Lami, you can stop apologizing. I'm not going to be crushed because you weren't enthusiastic enough. Your input is greatly valued, regardless.

Well failure is certainly not an option.

Right now, I think the situation is ripe for the taking. I have several contacts, and several processes in place that can really help me get ahead in the industry. I also have a particular set of skills and knowledge that can't be duplicated without considerable investment on someone else's part, and they can outsource it to me for much cheaper.

As long as your contacts are reliable and trustworthy, and you know that those processes will work. Then yeah from my P.O.V it doesn't seem like you have any more internal problems to deal with.

My only internal problems at the moment are self-doubt and fear, mostly because I will be giving up a very prestigious, overpaying, high-flying job to start this up, and it runs the risk of feeling like a gamble. Thats why I'm even rambling about it here (to make myself feel better) even though I'm just speaking gibberish as far as most of you are concerned lol.
