Spacies are generally considered a bad matchup for ivy though, because of their on stage game. But when it comes to that Ivy and spacies can zero to death each other so it's about who has sicker combos really.

Doesn't Ivy suffer against characters who have very good rushdown options like Falcon? That's what I've heard.

I also realized why I haven't had any problems with DDD, it's because ivysaur super hard counters him.

Really? I think Ivy vs DDD is definitely in Ivy's favor, but I don't think it's a hard counter, I think it's 55-45 Ivy, maybe 60-40 at worst.

top 10 isn't saying much when only a handful of characters are actually used at top level competitive. fox is the best character no doubt, but i don't think it's because of his recovery options. compared to his neutral game it's not close to being his strongest point.

Are we talking about Melee or PM? If it's PM, then it's Top 10, but if it's Melee, then I think next to Samus and Puff, Fox has the best recovery in the game.

i don't know man, from what i've seen fox's illusion is one of the easiest recoveries to predict and punish, so any time a fox tries to use it without going straight to the ledge, it's extremely dangerous. the other player should know the distance of the illusion (and obviously it's just vertical)

In a vacuum, illusion and firefox aren't very good, but in the heat of game, the sheer amount of option coverage that Fox has from a given position is insane. I think there's a heatmap somewhere just showing how absurd Fox's recovery options are, so if I can find it I'll show it.

ice climbers recovery goes surprisingly far too. doesn't really make it great tho.

That's different because Ice Climbers literally loses a guy when he does it, and it has pretty awful landing lag. Plus, they have awful ledge/wall tech options.

I came here to try and add on to the current topic and pass time but there's no way I'm reading all of that, if I did I'd have open a book.

So.. What about that Fallout 4 though?

It looks sick af.

Ivy is weak against spacies, marth and sheik. So I'd say you're correct. Basically anyone that can rush past his defenses easily and start comboing him.

What I read about DDD is from this thread: http://smashboards.com/threads/super-effective-ivysaur-match-up-thread-updated-for-3-0.337770/
-One of Dedede's most apparent character weaknesses is his unimpressive neutral game. Because of this, the tools that Ivy has here are much more useful. Keeping Dedede out is fairly easy, and this should be put on blast in the match-up. At best, your opponent should have to sift through an unreasonable ocean of defenses. Forehead height razor leafs will gain you a lot of mileage alone. A Dedede will quickly learn to fear vine whip and Ivy players should be keen to learn how this move can be used to restrict their opponent's gameplay. For example, on stages like Battlefield and Dreamland 64, D3 players have a powerful urge to jump from the ledge due to the fact that any aerial they preform will be auto ledge-cancelled. You should be able to snag a few vine whips from this habit. King Dedede also has the gift of arguably the deadliest off-stage game in Project M, so you should be careful, unpredictable, and very safe when making your way back on stage. Be wary of using your dair recklessly, as it is a great move for Dededes to try and strike you out of.

On the flip side though if I can get my combo game going spacies are going to have a hell of a time.

Oh that reminds me, I made this giant thread on Smashboards compiled of videos per each character, including Ivysaur and Squirtle.
http://smashboards.com/threads/top-players-videos-by-character-v3-5.378056/

Hopefully you'll find a use for them, I spent a lot of fucking time on that thread lol. All those videos are from 3.5 only.

I just wonder why you continually refuse to netplay with me.

It's not like I'm great or anything.

Zed actually left for something far worse and despicable. The seedy underbelly of the academic doctorate world, a PhD in Philosophy.

Does he come back from time to time? He seemed fairly invested in this place.

I've told you before. I have a shit computer. It was barely enough to handle 64, remember?

Plus, right now I'm in Bermuda, and I have shit internet here. Just ask Drone if you think I'm lying.

Pretty. Lots of ocean. Plenty of bugs. Really hot.
There's also nothing remotely scary anywhere in the island. Even the oceans don't have anything scary in them. The worst thing in the coasts of Bermuda are probably Barracudas.

And everyone is freakishly nice it's scary. In this country, people honk their horns in cars as a sign of hello.

It's mostly my internet that's shit. And I'm using a laptop cuz the place we rented doesn't have a desktop computer.

Plus it's like the number one place in the Western hemisphere for money laundering. There are so many rich and gigantic mansions here it's ridiculous.

I'll be in Korea in a week, so remind me to do the speedtest again so I can compare the speeds lmao.
