Quote from SmileMake your own. Having an extremely detailed sword in a shitty animation is no better than having a shitty sword in a shitty animation.
This guy gets it.

Ah, I missed this thread and all the cringe it entailed.

No, no, he meant the quality when you actually animate it.
I bet you just use the free transform tool, huh?

I actually don't remember what tool that is (I probly use it with out knowing)
I use a symbol for the heads, and line tool for every thing else
If free transform is the stretch and rotate tool, then of course I use it some times, but not the screw feature
Edit: oh god, it was an insult?
Well I really feel dumb now
Edit again: I also understand that a better weapon doesn't make my anim good (I've seen lots of proof for that fact) but am I not allowed to want a better made weapon?

What he's saying is it kinda makes it look worse. That's like if your animation has amazing backgrounds and shit during some cinematic shit but the second I see some choppy weak ass fbf I'm not even going to bother watching it. You should work on your movements before worrying about making cool weapons and shit. Also, another huge issue is when you get a highly detailed weapon made or trace one or some shit, but you zoom in twice to animate your stick doods like I do. Well now you're going to have to use the free transform tool to shrink the weapon down to size and it's going to look like shit.

Go ahead and make your weapon look better. It's as simple as "better weapon= better looking weapon"
What will make your animation better is the fluency of movements and your ability to make it feel ALIVE. Animation to me is making a bunch of visually appealing images, put them together, and give it life.
Life doesn't feel 2D. Even if your working 2D just give it the illusion of 3D. Now if you will excuse me I'm about to pass out from lack of food and stress of not being able to finish my EOI because my school runs on Walmart wifi. See ya
Edit: have you ever tried shrinking an image to fit with size proportion? The pixels really show in all the wrong places. My profile pic for example. Don't know if you can notice but I can. The pixels that pop up bother the shit out of me. You need to either zoom in to create it at the proper size proportion or figure out something else if you don't want pixels to look out of place

Oh, I see how that makes sense, a high grade weapon might make a lower grade anim look even worse, I'll just use the one I made.

Zman: This isn't elementary school. I don't think "copy the teacher" will be applied in College (for artwork, anyway) for the most part. It was a cute story, though.
Cruel: Man that's harsh. I wish I could help you out. I can honestly tell you that all I'll be focusing on is an art class, perhaps another regarding business like smile said, so I wont have the hassle of multiple classes. I liked what you said about getting a part time job in the meantime, though. Although I sort of found that obvious. My greatest fear will definitely be the time-management.
Thank you!
Smile: I like the idea of taking a separate class for a fallback plan. I'll keep my options open.
I really appreciate it, guys.

I'm like 9,000% sure that Reaper is the edgiest but w/e.

I wasn't comparing it to college. I don't think... My memory fails me. There was a point in there somewhere.

I wasn't trying to insult you, I was trying to tell you that having a detailed weapon is actually quite hard to integrate into your animations without it looking like a papercut model.
In fact, you're still in the beginner level. Before you move on to more advanced things, you should solidify and master your basics.
