Coolio.

I like it when people make videos and actually have something to say.

I don't disagree with what he's saying entirely, but the most immediate solution is not dropping out of school. Unless it's college and you can't afford it. That's different.

I see what you're saying about Will Smiths Deadshot barely wearing the iconic mask, but to be fair I remember the guy who played Deadshot in arrow barely ever wearing the mask if at all.

I've never watched Arrow, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

And his performance more than stood up on it's own in my opinion. So I don't see the mask as a deal breaker, so much as a gripe, albeit a valid one if you're an avid comic book fan expecting 1 for 1 character depictions. But if we're expecting 1 for 1, killer croc coulda definitely been depicted closer to his comic counterparts too.
As for his signature wrist gun, well I remember him using it a few times in suicide squad but wasn't exactly keeping count. Again it's not something that really bothered me, as Floyd tends to save it as his ace in the hole and deadshot was nowhere close to actually dying for real in this film. It should never be strange to see a guy named "deadshot" using a wide variety of firearms I feel like.

I think he used the wrist guns a total of two times, one of the times he used in his intro. I admit I am a fan of the comic, but I still think that Will Smith played closer to an action hero than a supervillain or just Deadshot. He just felt like a guy with guns. He had one really awesome scene that made me feel like he was Deadshot (when he was standing on the police car), but the rest of the film he was just another guy.

The problem with expecting actors to deliver a version of a character from a comic book, is that the fans read comic books and perceive the character their way in their own head. Just text and illustrations leaves a lot to the imagination. That's why I'm willing to compromise on these sorts of things as long as the performance and that actors interpretations are decent.

I agree. I just don't think certain characters were done that well and the chemistry of what makes a Suicide Squad an actual squad wasn't actually constructed that well and was more artificially pushed forward.

Sheit I really liked the evil moon chicks, even though they were clearly just the penultimate challenge. You're totally right that the dialogue is cheesy as shit, but also they've gotta keep shit appropriate enough that kids can even watch it otherwise they've gotta put a different rating on it. Kubo and the two strings isn't exactly lacking in mature content for an animated film these days either.

I don't know, I didn't mind their designs or their VA, it's just they were mostly filler characters. The dialogue I'm still iffy on; the story is clearly mature, but the dialogue doesn't make it feel that way.

Yeah except the message isn't literally "drop out of school right now."
The context is that there's much better things our children could be learning/doing instead, something I think most people who got pushed through shitty public schools could agree with.
There's also much worse things they could be doing too.

See I'd be interested in hearing your opinion on that show, particularly season 1 and 2 which were actually really awesome. Season 3 takes itself way too seriously and season 4 tries to recover from that but ends up filled to the brim with insufferable mellow drama.

I think we've discovered where our movie viewing experiences were different. I didn't at all get the impression that Deadshot was "Just a guy with guns" considering he was the only dude getting anything done in that movie. I thought through character interactions and scenes they made it clear he was intimidating and skilled far beyond all the other soldiers.

I wish they had clarified for some viewers that he wasn't a meta human though, that he's really just that damn good. They could've pushed him over just a little further, but the movie was also rife with deadshot scenes already.

They just need to make deadshot the movie and make it all about him trying to kill batman.

That moment when you have a solid character idea but no energy to write or even go further than concepts.

Also, hi stickpage. I'm back for my mandatory five minutes a week.

I mean I'd hope his actual message isn't to immediately drop out of school. It's just that when you title your video "Don't Stay in School" and have your very last line showered the shiny font as "Don't Stay in School" you're probably giving the wrong message to people who don't know better. I don't agree with everything he said, but I did agree with the overall point of the video., so it left a bad taste in my mouth on how it ended. The last thing you say has a lasting impact on viewers so I dislike that that was his final message when it really isn't the solution to anything he said. It's catchy I guess...?

I probably won't be getting to it any time soon. I still haven't watched Game of Thrones or House of Cards. Plus, I really like the witty Oliver Queen from the comics. From the little snippets I've seen this Oliver Queen looks way too serious which is throwing me off.

I think I worded that poorly. I don't mean that Deadshot is "just a guy with guns" in the sense that he's an average soldier since he's clearly much more than that and the movie established that. When I meant that he was "just a guy with guns" I meant that he didn't feel much different from your average action flik hero like Willis and Stallone. You can have a cool skill or power, but I think it's pretty lame to throw away the character design a character's known for and replace it with something far more dull. Deadshot's costume is badass and I'm disappointed that they didn't take advantage of that.

Um... those are the results, not the actual poll. Remove the "r" at the end for the real thing.

Honestly they're all kind of the same and none really jump out, these are more of what I'd expect to see on some teen positivity posters in a highschool.
