If you consider the only thing seperating your life from a "boring 9 to 5 life" would be drugs, the "escaping reality" thing fits again, though. If there are really no other ways for you to enjoy life to its fullest.

There are plenty of ways for me to make my life exciting and interesting. Like climbing a mountain. But, drugs are so much easier to obtain. Plus, when you're addicted, it gets real exciting.

I just dont get the point. Only reason people can give me for doing drugs is because it 'feels good'. So does masterbating, go do that.

Ah the why do anything when you can always do something else thats safer argument. Why go rock climbing when you can climb the jungle jim, why drive a car when you can ride a bike, why eat fatty foods when you can eat vegetables? Really there is risk in anything, if you don't feel that the risk is worth it then don't do it. But judging others is simply ignorance, you are assuming people see the risk in the same light as you. Are rock climbers stupid? Are car drivers stupid? They are simply trying to live the best of their abilities in this one life we have, life is not devoid of risks and if one was to always avoid risks then life, as it's said wouldn't really be worth living.

Also comparing any drug to masturbating is like comparing...well masturbating to actual sex. You have a risk of std' or getting someone pregnant, so why do it? You see where I'm coming from here?

I actually agree with both, there are plenty of ways to make your life exiting without drugs. However (for me anyways) drugs are just one of those things that make it exiting, it's not what I live for, I live to live. It's all about what fits you.

also climbing a mountain, reaching the peak and smoking a nice j with friends is just...well it's just tops.

I do, im all for taking risks. Ive spent the last year year and a half trying to get back in the military afterall. And i dont judge people because of it, i dont give a shit if other people do them, as long as they dont over-do it, i just wont do them myself. I feel no need to do them because i can find other exciting things to do like taking my car out or going out with my friends. That and i have too much pride to be looked at as a stoner. I just think of drugs as a cheap thrill for people that cant go out and do anything else. Again, i dont judge solely because of them. Ive had more then one friend thats done drugs, but they were still pretty cool so i didnt really care.

you see, i have no problem with weed. but the harder drugs are more difficult for me to be ok with.

anyway, what do you guys think of this name for a band: BLINDED IN SILENCE.
when someone is denied the freedom of speech, they become apathetic or "blind" to the outside world.
like i said, what do you think?

HEY I LOOK LIKE A STONER not by intention though, just sorta panned out that way.

Ah well then you are not seeing what the attraction is, which is perfectly fine. It's what makes everyone different. And to be frank I felt the same as you once, I didn't see the need. But, for me anyways I can't stress this enough I'm not trying to convince anyone to do any drugs, it just fits and feels right. It's knowing my body and knowing chemicals, knowing that I can handle my dead grandmother crawling up my leg with a knife, going out and experiencing life while on drugs, it's the culture, everything about it entices me. The same way a rock climber loves everything about rock climbing is the way I feel about drugs. See most people see hobby's as an entirely different thing than taking drugs, I don't, to me it is my hobby, not my only one of course but one of them. A cheap thrill? I don't see how, you have to know what you are taking, know what it will do to you, know what the consequences could be to both your body and mind, not to mention the law. I like testing my body to see what it can and can't do, like right now I haven't slept for 24 hours just because. I wanna see how my mind works, is my body that much weaker etc. You assume that people who take drugs only take drugs and do nothing else, that is a drug addict sir. Not something I plan to become. It's this separation that people have, there's drugs, and then there is everyone else. Life is all one big mishmash man, take what you like and learn to love it.

I'm in a rambling mood my apologies.

tbf, you are a stoner. However you look looks like a stoner, because how a stoner looks is however you look.

Well then let me clarify, I've always looked like a stereotypical stoner, ever since middle school. Not my fault it's just how I like to dress. Never even associated the way I look with being a stoner until high school when everyone was convinced that I smoked.

Also I can't seem to upload any pictures, imageshack and tinypic just freeze on me. This is quite annoying.

I probably looked like a stoner in high school because i had long hair, but everyone knew i wasnt.

Well forgive me for valuing some people's opinions here more than the other bastards out there, also I knew you'd make a thread about it and I'd rather see the debate here than on some review site.

Yeah I've been using it, seems alright. Little slower than chrome I think but I'm starting to distrust that company who claims do no evil.

yeah i haven't made an opera thread in a while
