too long, because it has to be vertical, with the hook part pointing in the air and the bottom towards the ground. But it's just too long to be positioned like that without sticking up in the air like a fuckin foot. The thing I'm measuring starts flat on the ground and goes upward, so it could sit on maybe a scale, but not a spring scale like that, as you can see from its shape. It'd have to be buried into the ground or something, which is like, no.
I'm leaning more towards the push-scale-with-sticks-taped-to-it idea. But I don't know if it's scientifically correct. I included that in my post, but I don't think it was very clear. It's hard to explain, but if one end of a stick was being pulled upward (and slightly towards the center), and the other side (of the stick) was taped/fixed to a surface, then the taped side would push down on that surface, right? It's like, a fucking seesaw, but in reverse, and one end of the seesaw is being pushed into the fucking ground because there's no pivot point thing but it's still stuck in place. Or maybe it'd need a pivot point... on top? Fuck, that probably doesn't make sense. I just want the pulling force to be transferred into a pushing force that can be measured with a conventional cheapass mini scale I can buy for ten bucks at fucking Sears or something.

the red arrows pointing down are what I'm unsure about.
1 side pulled up =???= other side forced 'down'? or at least affecting the scale in some way? Pretty sure it would, right, but would that accurately tell how much force the flying thing is pulling with? I guess the tape would have to be more in the center of the stick for that to make sense, so pretend I drew it that way.
uhh i think

If you get the distance from the scale to the pivot the same as the distance from the pivot to the fucker going up, it will accurately measure the force. If the distances are different you get a lever effect and the force measured will be multiplied by (pivot-to-fucker divided by pivot-to-scales). So yeah, go for it.

Quote from Oblivion EXUgh, the forum got reset back to it's 2010 database save, which was apparently the last one, so you are just gonna have to deal with it.
I can see everyone's join date that's before 2010. That guy's is Feb 2008.
Also, this morning, before I went to school, I wrote down the page that I was on in this thread because it usually goes by so fast and so many people post (I was like, "Ohoh, I'm so smart for thinking this up"). It's only moved on to the next page...
What has happened?

Every now and then it happens, so it's not like something bad is happening. However, it is true that some veteran members who were the source of the huge page gain have lowered their amount of activity.
