it's a common mistake in most cases
consider the point of view of someone that isn't a follower of miyazaki's films -- people would recognize disney more than studio ghibli and would more than likely believe that disney made the film because disney's reputation is already established and widely known while studio ghibli has more of a "cult following"

I said "from Disney" because I watched it from Disney! I know that they were made my Ghibli, I actually read Mizayaki's bio right after watching Spirited Away.

I really liked Princess Mononoke, but for some reason, my favorite Ghibli movie is Howl's Moving Castle, closely followed up by Spirited Away and, of course, Princess Mononoke.
