trolling is originally a term for a method of fishing, that's why "trolling for newbies" was a thing.

Ooooh. I see.

I didn't know that since english isn't my first language. Makes sense.

Lol you guys are complaining about how art and stuff other then sticks get overlooked, when you are at a Stick animation site?

Stickpage. I haven't seen one fullbody on the front page. If you don't like it, go to Deviant Art or make your own site.

Yeah man, glorified stickmen with dragon ball z hair are SO inspired. The amount of talent somebody needs to draw one is fucking immense. Who cares if it's a stick figure website. People should progress from that as they get more skilled. Right now the art section is a 10 person circle jerk.

The art section? This community excluding the members that don't actively post their animations or animate at all is a circlejerk. Barely anyone gives legit feedback any more. It's always a short few words of praise. People only make small things now so they can quickly post it on IRC or the animation section to get their jolly's off to people telling them they're good at something.

For most of what I see from the FA crowd, their animations are actually really, really good in terms of movement and particles and all that stuff, so it's hard to give criticism in terms of the true animation portion. I do think that people do too much small stuff - there are endless demos and things, but really once you're at that stage of having the basics, you should start making larger projects.

This is all from the perspective of a non-animator.

Yeah it's really hard to compete with the FA guys.
Especially considering most of the best SPP animators were also FA members, so yeah.

Though they don't stand a chance if it's a competition of irrelevant posts insulting one another, we got em beat ten to one.

Yeah its just most of the FA community are lazy. They do great in short portions but can never stay consistent when doing a long animation. Which is weird as fuck to me lmao.

There is always something to be improved upon. But the short animations thing is another irritation. The younger generation has no attention span.
