These spambots are getting smarter.

Judgment Day is coming, guys. We've gotta take down Skynet before human society becomes irreparable.

I've got a small cyst on my shoulder (I believe). Should I go to the doctor or deal with it myself?

Help a babe out.

> Studying computer science at uni. Almost finished first year.
> Has grown tired of it. Sick of looking at a computer monitor all the time, sick of analyzing code. It's great when it's a hobby, but when you're doing it as a job it becomes a very large burden

> Thinking of switching to something like Chinese language studies (I realize learning languages at uni is almost pointless. But the main point is that in the end, you get a degree, which allows you to do shit)
> I would enjoy this far more + travel oppurtunities. However, computer science obviously gives you access to FAR more jobs with FAR higher pay.
> Father wants me to do computer science (because he never wants me to have to worry about money I guess). Although I think if I told him, he would understand.
> Changing courses would mean an extra year of uni, and about $3500 extra overall.

What do?

EDIT: Being young is funny. We change our minds too much.

That's tough Cronos. I really don't know if I could help, considering I'm only nearly 15. Putting that aside, I'd ask your dad for advice. He's probably gone through something similar before, and you said he'd understand if you switched, so that's another reason he'll give you an honest opinion. Good luck with whatever you end up choosing.

I would enjoy this far more

You say this now, but you probably won't.

Absolutely nothing seems appealing when you think about doing it as a job for the rest of your life. Especially when you think it'll be as tedious as your classes. It probably won't be. Once you get through college and you're skilled enough to convince a company you're worth being paid a livable salary to spend all day on something you enjoy, things will get a lot better.

College sucks the enjoyment out of everything and it's worse when you previously enjoyed whatever it is you're studying. But switching majors isn't going to make your experience any better, unless you study something you're really, truly passionate about. Even then, college will probably just ruin that too.
