I've reported 3 or 4 today, seems like I'm doing this every fucking day at this point. Why isn't there a post limit before you can make new threads? Surely the effort required to implement that feature would make up for the collective effort of deleting and banning these posts/accounts every day.

I wish I was able to modify the coding of the forums because I have several anti-spambot methods that work really well.

It's happened before. Although last time I had the Who's Online screen making it much easier to lurk. But yeah, we're doing the best we can:

The bots are on the rise. It was nice and quiet not long ago.

Told my dad about my intentions to change course at uni.

We need to set up some kind of anti-spambot stuff, really.

it's such an easy problem to fix, like 5-10 minutes at the most. all you need to do is go to vBulletin's default "Registered Users" usergroup, remove the "Can post threads" permission, add a new identical usergroup that can post threads, then add a promotion to Registered Users that moves them to the new usergroup after 10 or 20 posts.

But that last adbot was ridiculous, 45 posts in a half hour or something. there's not much you can do about that. still, we don't get many of those.

Do things like asking a simple math question like 2+2 work?
