I don't see an issue with not being able to see on screen with a tablet as you have the cursor on screen to let you know where you're at. That's just me though.

I have it arch, the cintiq 21ux. It IS really nice. However, if you are moderately serious about animation a nice sized intuous 9x12 is perfect. Just a hobby, small thing on the side - bamboo touch / fun and if its your job go for the cintiq lol.
