So I just saw the movie The Purge and it made me wonder how I would handle such an event.

In the movie there is an event every year called The Purge where all crime becomes legal for one night including murder. From what I can tell there are two kinds of people: The people who stay home and lock down with barricades and the people who go out hunting. Now I can pretty safely say I'd be a hunter but what about you? How would you act in such an event?

The movie I watched was called The Purge but somebody on irc just told me there was a sequel called Anarchy.

The Purge: Anarchy (2014) is the sequel to The Purge (2013).

I would be a hunter IF I have enough equipments.

Barricade, Home Alone style, and lure hunters to my house. Kill them and loot their weapons. Continue to do so for several years and build an armory. Sell weapons for favours and money.

That's actually really wise. Trap them inside of the house and take all of the weapons. Then sell em all and make some profit. But then again, if you fail, even if it's some slight, minor mistakes... gg

I'd be part of looter gang with some of my friends I guess. Like just go into Gamestop/BestBuy and just fucking steal all the shits (assuming that these places are not already heavily secured). But I wouldn't really kill anybody.

If I were a hunter, that is where i would set my traps. Especially in the candy aisle.

Don't know about you but pretty sure during those twelve hours if you go hunting you're basically fucked. Grab some supplies, grab a few friends, chill on a hill near me which has a fence just slightly off the top - stay there. Watch the mayhem occur.

I'd barricade my house and cry like a bitch. Or sleep through the night and hope nobody tries to kill me. I'd be lying if I said I had the balls to go out and do something violent. However, if there was an opening I'd totally go steal some valuable stuff from a store or something, Like a TV or a computer.

Be the shut in I've always been.

Although, I'd be nervous and paranoid about what will happen to me. As for food and water, I'll just hope I won't have to go outside to get them.

I don't think I'd do anything different. It's not like I refrain from stealing and killing people just because it's illegal. In my day to day life there are very few times when I want to do something but the law stops me. I think the only time it ever actually comes up is when I want to park my car somewhere with double yellow lines.

If other people really did go out killing on that night then yeah, I guess I'd lock my doors. But I'd hope that everyone else feels pretty similar to me.
