I'm already signed up for it, I'll need to remember to check on January 13'th.

It's like league, except it's using blizzard characters, which is pretty awesome. It seems like team fighting is always relevant and none like league it's not retardedly hopeless when you're behind.

Been looking forward to this game for a long time. I signed up for the beta quite a while back and am very excited to hear it's coming out soon.

The reason it resembles League is because it's a MOBA. So are Dota and League. I saw HotS in a recent issue of GameInformer.

Dota was the original MOBA, which was originally a mod in warcraft and starcraft. So I kind of feel like it isn't so black and white.

It seems to do away with everything I hate about league.

The resurrection!

Now that the game is out for free I'm sure we'll have reason to post about it.

I've only played one game vs players so far, but a few things are clear.
1) My league skills directly translate over
2) The game is more team focused than league
3) Come backs are more likely

You can definitely do a comeback. One moment you are going to win, then a gazlowe sneaks into your base and kills your towers and core.

Tychus is quite good, but he's a bit on the repetitive side.

I just wanna unlock zeratul.

Edit: Tychus can't mix it up a lot, after ten games with him and trying a lot of his abilities out I've drawn a conclusion that he only really has two play styles.
1) Right-click kite assassin
2) Saboteur

With the former you focus on developing his auto attacks and his Q, and just mow down low life enemies, harassing anyone that isn't low enough to slaughter. Most people wont fuck with you while your Q is off cool down, so just hang on to it unless you need to win exchanges or they're low enough to chase with his E and kill with Q. If it's down, don't fight till it's back up.
With the latter you build his grenades up, to push minion waves and annihilate base defenses. Similar to the former, you don't really want to fight while grenade is down unless your certain you'll get the kill.

One does lots of hero damage and the other does lots of siege damage. I consider the former much more solid than the latter. Because obviously right click damage still helps take down buildings AND lets you fight enemy heroes. While the grenades pretty much just push waves and crush buildings. Not that it's not nice to occasionally tag a super low enemy with a long ass supped up grenade throw for the kill in the fog of war. But still.

Also I hate the odin, laser 4 lyfe.

It seems like they want to create an even simpler and even more casual Moba than League in attempts to attract more casual gamers lol. Kinda like how more people became attracted to League rather than Dota cause of Dota's steep learning curve.

I'm not exactly sure what I feel about it though.. Instead of items, you level up different skills and traits instead which makes it super easy for beginners as you don't have like 30 items to choose from and only need to pick between 3 things lol. It'll also make balancing the game much easier too since if you nerf an item in League, some super powered champions will be weaker, but you'll also be indirectly nerfing a lot of weaker champions too which causes a head ache, while in HotS you just need to change their specific skills. Though, by doing this, you'll also be killing the diversity in your characters.. like how you can build your League champion super tanky, or pure damage. Or how when AP yi was a thing, you'd get polar opposite playstyles for one champion depending on how you build them which I always thought was super cool lol. But in HotS it's like you can only play the character 1 or 2 ways, and that's about it.

Also the fact that exp is shared throughout all characters also makes it so that one player can't hard carry a team, if you have a couple bad players, you'll just lose I think lol. Though I do like all the different map and objectives that they provide. It definitely changes how the game is played and makes it super different from other mobas which I think is nice lol.

More casual? Perhaps, but the game has only been out for two days so I think it may be too early to make that judgement. I see it as a moba with the fat trimmed off and there's a lot about that I like. For starters less fucking bullshit in general, out of the fifteen games I've played I've only seen one negative player and it didn't even matter. Because players have less to be pissed about in heroes of the storm. The matches are shorter, so if you're getting your ass kicked or you have an asshole on your team it's less painful because non like league you wont be sitting there for 30+ minutes just wanting to start over, with a group of two denying any chances of surrender.
With the shorter matches comes easier learning yeah, but league of legends is a game where you fall behind and you're pretty much done. That is to say, heroes of the storm has actual comebacks. I'm not talking about the occasional league come back that happens once in a blue moon, I mean the losing team has a very real chance to come back every game if you squander your lead. In the beta some people called this the game rewarding bad players, but I'm starting to lean the other way now. You can't just do well at the start of the game and then suddenly be too powerful for them to catch up, no more getting fed and blowing up everything that comes within a mile. This is what makes league so slow, your team makes a few mistakes and you're behind for the rest of the goddamn game. Heroes is actually rewarding good play, by expecting you to be more consistent. Yeah you're in the lead, but you're not invincible, you need to capitalize.

Which is great, because heroes of the storm is more team focused than league.

The bad though, obviously there's less content, with the exception of maps.

League is the most unbalanced game ever. I played some heroes of the storm when it was in beta and nothing really caught my interest about it. Can you still mount up or did they take that out?
