Marcus shook his head and smiled, blushing from Liss' question, " I don't have a problem with that at all. There isn't any need in getting individual rooms for everyone. We shouldn't squander Adric's honest profits." Marcus hadn't noticed but his hand was practically holding Liss' hand now. He didn't even think about where the feather from the enchantress might have fallen as he was too caught up in the moment.

A warm sensation ran up her arm as she felt him hold her hand. Looking up at him she stood in front of him and placed her head against him. Glancing over at Boris she frowned. He was so upset about the
Themba girl that she looked up at Marcus. He was such a sight for sore eyes as she smiled up at him. "Give me a moment Marcus." Letting go of her angel she made her way over to Boris and squatted next to him. "I am sorry for your loss Boris... I'd also like to thank both you and Marcus for trying so hard... almost too hard to try and save me." Leaning over she hugged him and let go before standing up. "She was really pretty." Looking away she knew exactly how Boris felt. "A friend of mine... was slaughtered by my own tribe." Glancing down at him she had tears still in her eyes. "He was killed because he wasn't the same as them. Themba, Roy, and everyone else we've lost will just be waiting. I just... wanted to show I still care about you Boris..." With that she walked back over to Marcus.

Marcus understood as Liss slipped away to go talk to Boris. He knows what it is like to lose friends in the heat of battle, but it has never affected him before. Looking at Boris as he tried saying his goodbye's, and Lissette sympathizing for similar heartache's, Marcus couldn't help but to feel bad for the two. It seemed everyone had lost so much, and that's what brought them together. Marcus couldn't help thinking about the man who mentored him, and lost his life when the demon lord that attacked his home on Earth. The thought of losing what you loved, who you loved, hurt Marcus because he was just now beginning to understand what love is. Anger was the only thing Marcus had ever known. It is a great attribute for a soldier sent to war, but there would be no place for blind rage in a small band of heroes.
As Liss moved towards Boris, Marcus approached Jessica, "I'm sorry for my reckless actions. I meant no harm towards you or anyone else..." He was sincere with his words as he talked to the blind warrior. He was not intentionally trying to be reckless, storming through the town kicking doors in. Something else was burning strong in his heart, even if he did not want to acknowledge it.
As Lissette returned Marcus reached his arm out to wrap around her and hold her close. "I'll keep everyone safe, I promise..." At the time Marcus meant what it was that he was saying. He would do better to keep everyone safe by relying more on his human nature and instincts rather than his angelic nature of war and destruction. Was this his fate, or was he meant for something more?

She smiled at Marcus as he apologised. It is actually his first time doing and feeling alot of things, she can't blame him for making mistakes "Is alright Marcus I know this is difficult for you, I've experienced anger for many years now and I'm actually quite new to these new feelings just as you. Just... please trust in us and stay with us next time". She remembered what he had told her earlier and smiled placing her hand on his shoulder "And... I DO understand..."

Standing close to Marcus, his arms snaked around to hold her close making her smile and wrap both of her arms around him nuzzling close into him. "I don't doubt you for a moment." Placing her cheek against him she looked up and kissed him on the cheek. "Thank you Marcus."

Just as quickly as Jessica had finished speaking Lissette had wrapped her arms around Marcus once more. He almost completely forgot about Jessica when Lissette kissed his cheek and thanked him. He blushed quite a bit, holding her in his arms, "it's my pleasure m'lady."
Marcus remembered what Jessica said a few seconds later, as he was lost in thought. "You will have to forgive me, I'm not exactly sure about what I told you earlier. It was probably something out of impulse and anger... I don't usually remember those things." The man wasn't lying as he had no memory of the exact details leading up to finding Lissette. Almost as if his memory had been erased....

She simply smiled and replied "It's okay. I hope you make the right decisions if there's a next time". She turned to Gabriel and Septimius, he looked way better than a few minutes ago, his heartbeats were slowing down and his breathing indicated he was relaxed, suddenly she felt something around her... something very important. She turned her head to the enchantress' corpse and thought "The feather...". Jessica ran towards it, kneeled and started to look with her hands, after a minute her fingers touched something soft and warm, she smiled widely and stood up. Turning to the rest of her companions she ran to them yelling in excitement "We got another feather!!!"

Septimius felt like he was floating on a cloud thanks to the warmness and clarity of healing magic. He slept soundly when suddenly someone yelling woke him up. He opened his arms and stretched out with a yawn, complaining, "Must you be so loud Jessica? I was having the most wonderful sleep. Brother, thank you so much for healing me." He sat up and rubbed his eyes with his left hand, while his right hand was still encased in dry blood. He slowly peeled off the cloth on his shoulder and threw it to the side. He picked off the band around his forearm and was going to throw it away as well when he realized what it was. He pocketed Jessica's ribbon, planning on washing it first before returning it to her.
He stood up and rubbed away at his right hand, shaving off the rough dried patches as he looked around for his hat. He walked to where he was attacked and stared at his hat that was sitting next to a pool of blood. He rubbed his shoulder in distress at the recent memory and picked with dismay at the rags that were now his right sleeve. He picked up his hat and placed it on his head while taking his staff and sheathing it. "So then, how do we get out of here?"

Desmond looked up at Jessica who was excited that they had claimed yet another feather. The stitcher smiled slightly, the quest was another feather closer to its end. He fixed up his things, making mental notes for the clockwork construct's next upgrade and Ahriman's request for the repeating crossbow.
Ghan, satisfied with the view, stood up and walked to his master. His eyeless sockets peered around them as he scanned the perimeter for danger.
"We need to get you a language. Something you can speak through so that it isn't just silence between us." Desmond said. "We are but one soul but can't communicate. I mean, what does that say poetically?" He laughed.
"I read a few poems, things I scavenged from the dead I harvested. All of them metaphors and philosophies about the great sleep or the gates above, immaterial things like love or glory." He said as he looped the wire on his arm and neatly tucked it away in his pouch. "But I've read nothing of beings that share a soul, unable to talk to each other in spite of being together."
The stitcher shakes his head as he stashed the small welder and a few metal parts into the pouch. "Must mean nothing yeah?"
Ghan stayed silent. Desmond stood up, laid his hand on his ally's shoulder and nodded. "Come on," the stitcher said finally. "According to Lissette, there should be an exit. Scout ahead will you?"
Ghan tapped his metal once and walked on towards where Lissette had appeared.

Finally reaching everyone she nooded to Desmond "You're right, we should be able to get out from where Lissette got in here" we can start moving if everyone is ok. Steping a bit closer to Septimius she said to him "Glad to see you're fine, you got me worried earlier.... you didn't throw my ribbon right?"
Jan 20, 2015 3:26 AM #1297648
"No of course not." He took it out of his pocket and held it in his hand. "The only problem is that... well... it's soaked in my blood." He smiled sheepishly and pocketed it again. "I'll give it back after i clean it. I promise. In the mean time," he took off his hat and took off his purple sash, giving it to her, "If you want a ribbon, you can borrow mine." She touched his hand as she took it and he blushed, quickly withdrawing his hand and retreating over to follow Desmond and Ghan.

"It's alright, I'm just glad that it worked to cover your wounds you'd do the same for me after all" she said friendly accepting his ribbon and placed it at the top of her head "Take care of it... that ribbon means a lot to me..." she added a bit worried, but she trusted that Septimius would give it back to her after it's cleaned. "Well then..." Jessica stretched "Let's get out of here and get some rest"

The stitcher noticed the approaching mage. "You seem well. I have Ghan scouting ahead, he might find a way out soon." He said as he sheathed the sword.

"Fantastic," Septimius smiled at Desmond, "I'm itching for some food and... a change in clothes." He grimaced as he rolled his right shoulder, still remembering the sensation of the spikes piercing through his skin and muscle. He opened and closed his hand as he reassured himself that everything was fine.

OOC: Upgrade time, babies <3
The group began to regain their bearings after the taxing battle that garnered them yet another feather in their collection. With four in hand, they were now halfway there in a mere week and a half. The only thing they cared about now, though, was stepping out of this sewer and finding a place to rest. Desmond awaited Ghan to return and tell him of his findings, however he was surprised to hear a voice in his head.
I've found the exit, a bit ahead.
Desmond stumbled, shocked at the sudden development. That was...Ghan. Somehow, through some sort of unknown means, he seemed to now be able to talk telepathically to his companion, however nobody else would hear him except for his creator. Ghan would also speak slowly, and with not many large words as he hasn't had knowledge of them for very long.
"He's found the exit," Desmond said, too shocked to explain to them of what he found. He ran forward, and the others followed suddenly. Jessica was realizing that she could hear the sound of splashing water under Desmond's feet, even when he was already so far ahead of her. It seemed that her hearing had enhanced greatly, to the point that she could listen to an enemy's breathing from 100 yards away.
Boris seemed to not be as effected by what had occurred to him after a few minutes of silence. After realizing that life goes on, and overcoming such a hump, it was virtually impossible for him to be afraid of any creature anymore. He no longer would cower against any foe (Unless stated otherwise).
Otael felt something resonating within himself after aiding in the defeat of this monster. It was...a sudden increase in self-confidence. He didn't feel like such a failure anymore.
Other notable upgrades: Gabriel: His healing is enhanced to the point that even the worst wounds can be healed at an exponentially faster rate.
Ravin: The sword was kinda your upgrade...sorry. HOWEVER, it is insanely strong and able to cut through the likes of steel. It is also very light.
Liss: After her rampage, her powers at her base form is greatly increased. She can also control the length of her horns at will, however the longer they get, she sacrifices her self-control for her powers.
Septimius: Now that he has overcome such a mighty beast, he can now control fire again without losing control, at very small intervals.
Marcus: His resistance to attacks has increased exponentially, and he can now transform his sword into bursting flames at will rather than when he is enraged.
(OOC: Anyone who didn't participate in the boss battle doesn't get an upgrade. Hope I didn't forget anyone)
The others eventually found Ghan, ascending the ladder that led to the manhole and quickly filed outside. As they looked around at the city, drowned in the light of the full moon, they noticed that it was much more abandoned than only hours before. There were not nearly as many people even in their homes, as if the werewolves had left upon realizing their alpha's death. The few people that were seen were survivors, laying against the walls of their homes and shaking intensely. It was eerie, to see the busy city now abandoned under the moonlight.
