The auctineer was startled by the raised price, glancing backat the girl before chuckling aletting forth a huge smile. "200 then!," he exclaimed, "Do i have 250?"

The elder vampire seemed surprised as well, however he frowned and scoffed, waving his hand "200 isn't worth it for a measly human. I'll wait til these drain out. However...I'll need to speak with that horned fellow"

The auctioneer was giddy, looking down at the female, "sold for 200!," he grabbed the human male by his dark brown hair and began pushing him down from the stand. He tried to resist, but was met with a backhand, "Enough you incessant wretch"

He moved down to the duo, pushing him to them and holding his hand out for the money.

Meanwhile, the man behind the counter of the market simply nodded slowly, turning around "Master, this man wants some lengthy robes"

"Christ, you cant get them yourself?," a snarling voice replied quickly, "Why the hell did I ever hire you"

After a moment, a tall man with long white hair emerged from the back of his shop with crimson robes, full length, and they looked as though they were made from the finest cotton. "Hello, sir! I apologize for my ignorant worker here. If you want these robes, that'll cost you 50 euros. Finest of the land, though." He smiled.

Otael watched in horror as the man was being auctioned off. The horror did not entirely stem from the sight though. He was mostly terrified of himself for feeling some sort of justice. Here was one of the men almost definitely beat him while he lived here, having his life being bought and sold. It felt like karma had stricken down on this city, and part of him loved it, but the other half of him knew exactly how this man felt with his crushed spirit. He put up no fight in getting auctioned off. He simply stood there, emotionless. This was a position that Otael was all too familiar with, and he wanted to do nothing more than to save the man. This contradiction tore at both sides of Otael's mind as he constantly gestured to running straight up to the man and breaking him free, and quickly followed that up with holding back not knowing what to do. It was when Desmond said they should walk over to Septimius that Otael agreed with a head nod. He started walking over, terrified of what he might actually have done had his mind not been made up for him. Thankfully after they had started walking, Liss had bought the man, saving the man from his shackles. This had rid Otael of any guilt, but had not done anything to quench the horror that was his indecisiveness.

Liss had smiled with all of her pure happiness. "I'm gonna name him George!!!" Reaching over she grabbed the bag of gold before placing it in the auctioneers hand. Grabbing the humans hand by the wrist she trotted away from the large group of vampires before signalling for Marcus and Jessica to come over to her. Liss looked at Georges hair before smiling happily. "You'll be okay George." She wasn't planning on buying all of them. She had stolen a bag of money from some poor soul in the crowd as she didn't care how much she bid. "Oh!" Turning Liss glared at the old vampire almost forgetting her second part of the deal. Turning back to George she rested her hand on his shoulder and whispered for only him to only hear. "Hey... We're gonna get you guys out. Do you understand?" Brushing his hair away from his eyes, Lissette knelt down and grabbed some lotion from her pouch. She began to rub the lotion over all of the bites on the human male. "M-Marcus... I don't like how they're looking at us..." Lissette had a sharp feeling in her chest as she tried to help George feel better. "Let's get back to the group... " Grabbing Georges wrist Liss shook slightly as she was extremely nervous. She hoped that they had no idea what she was at that point. "Stupid wrinkles couldn't just give me you for 100. Haaaaaad to make a scene..."

Marcus placed his hand on Lissette's shoulder, "I like that name. George." He watched as Liss rubbed her lotion on the man's bite marks with pity. This man would have met with a cruel fate had Lissette not come along. Surely the others in the group wouldn't have had the testicular fortitude to come forth in a group of vampire's to save this man. Liss had mentioned the way the other vampires were beginning to look at them, at he couldn't help but to nod in agreement that the extra attention wasn't a good thing. Mar0cus noticed the old man that Liss had glared at, and how he had two human's on a leash. An idea began to radiate in his head as he sat his backpack down and began to shuffle through his belongings. He was going to wait for a more appropriate time, but this seemed like the best time to show Liss that he had found the other piece to her neck collar. With a sharp click, Marcus hooked a black leather leash with silver studs lining it to Lissette's spiked collar. Turning to some of the other vampire's he said "I'm sorry, friends, but this one is mine. Forgive me for not having her on a leash sooner." Marcus ran his fingers through Lissette's hair, "This beauty is not for sale."

He had began the journey with 100 euros. He had spent 20 in Aunorguard to buy the sash, was saved from paying five for the map thanks to Asuka, so with 80 euros still in tow, buying the nice robe for 50 didn't seem like a bad deal. He opened his coin purse and placed the appropriate amount on the table then chose one that seemed to fit him. Then as he decided to transfer all his possessions from the pockets of his pants to that of the robe he took out Jessica's still bloodied ribbon. He grimaced at the fact he had forgotten to do such an important task and asked the shop keeper, "Do you have any water I may use or do you know where the well is so I may get some for myself?"

Just by watching humans being reduced to cattle and slaves to the blood-hungry aristocrats makes Boris's stomach turn. He knew he stepped out of his comfort zone as he entered the vile city; everything looks grim, humans are being auctioned off, and it completely disturbs him on how these vampires keep these human lives on leashes. As the others scattered around to cover ground, Boris turned towards Ravin.

"I'll go investigate this forsaken place. If anyone asks, tell them I'm looking for a restroom."

Before he set off, he placed a canary on Ravin's shoulder. The yellow bird chirped cheerfully.

"I'll still be around, just through the eyes of the canary. I'll alert you if there's something dire."

Boris then sails off into the depths of the city alone, with a handful of birds on his shoulderpads in case anything happens to threaten him. His scrying sensory skills will play a major factor for the group, keeping the group in check while being distant as he's searching for anything suspicious.

Desmond, along with Otael and Ghan (who carried the sack of food), eventually find Septimius who was currently having a chat with the shopkeeper.

The stitcher allows his eyes to wander at the cityscape. There were familiar places here, the marketplace especially, where vampires gazed at him curiously with fiendish stares or the occasional hungry growl. Over the years, he got used to it. His face a blank expression whenever a vampire hands him the food he needs or he is asked where he went. He never really answered them anyway, except for the good shopkeeper near the alleyway that led directly to Creese's lab, if you knew the right turns.

The shopkeeper was an ancient vampire, she was old but wise and remembered a time when all vampires were civilized. After all, vampires were once humans but then a rapid change occurred and most vampires of her age were lost. She granted Desmond stories when he arrived for the usual food, stories of the outside world when she still traveled with her companions. When Worborrow was but a glen and its great woods were but saplings. The city of Aunorgard, she would say, was thrice the size it was then, maybe more. Desmond would play with these stories in his head. He never quite got the name of the good vampire he had stayed with during his childhood but he treasured this gem of a memory.

It was like a shining crystal in the pool of viscus vitae, the black fluid.

The human looked curiously between both Liss and Marcus, and winced as lotion was placed on his wounds. However, he knew that she was not trying to hurt him. She seemed too good for that. He turned to the two of them, still frowning as his chocolate brown eyes sparkled ever so lightly in relief. "Thank you...," He said simply, "I thought I was a goner..."

The vampires continued to look at Lissette curiously, until they witnessed the neck collar being placed at her and Marcus' statement. Grumbling, they turned away, however they wondered what an angel would want with a human slave. The elder one continued to stare at the two of them for what seemed like an eternity, before eventually scoffing and pulling harshly on his two humans, walking back down the street.

"Uh," The human slave began to say, looking back and forth, "I believe there's a well over near the auction podium."

As Septimius walked away, it was at that moment that the same vampire from before wrapped his hand around the human's neck, pulling him back behind the curtain. The only thing he could hear was an authoritative voice telling the human how much of a horrible person he was. Septimius had his robes, but was now being glanced at by every vampire. He could potentially be their next slave.

Meanwhile, Boris walked off to scan the area further. As he went deeper into the city, he became to further notice the vampires that smelled his human scent. Some began to call out to him, urging him to wait up. He continued to walk, however, but was then physically stopped by another vampire that had accidentally stumbled right into him. The black-eyed vampire looked at Boris, taking in his human scent, before drawing a courteous smile.

"Apologies, friend," he said, "I couldn't help but notice that you're....human. We don't notice many free humans in this city. It's very dangerous to be walking around in the city's epicenter. Why don't I lead you to the eastern side. Much less people, and much less danger for someone like you. I'll even give you a place to stay."

Septimius smoothed down the robe, making slight adjustments to how it weighs on him. It was heavier than his last robe but he was going to have to deal with it. It was a very nice robe though, the man was right that the cotton was very fine. He walked up to the well and using the pail and crank, ran the bucket down and drew some water. He placed the bucket on the rim of the stone well and gently began washing the ribbon. He continued until the ribbon lost its red. He drew the water out of the ribbon and looked with a smile at the now dry and clean ribbon. He splashed the contaminated water on the ground and turned around to see everyone looking at him every now and then. He blinked and felt strange with all the eyes on him. He slowly began walking back towards the group, meeting the vampires' eyes as he got closer to the group.

Desmond looked around as Septimius came back. The eyes were watching.

"Septimius, the eyes around us look hungry," Desmond muttered.

They look like eyes. Ghan said plainly, the sack was slung on his back.

"We'd better go back to the others. Better in groups rather than alone with the eyes."

Ahriman laid eyes on the auction and felt his blood boiling. He follows Desmond, hoping to get this grotesque scene out of sight before he endangers the group. "This place disgusts me. I should never have let it go this far. I get the feeling there was a change in leadership." He glares at the market with scarcely hidden contempt. "Someone is going to wish I had remained in my grave when I find them."

A crisp click was heard at the back of her neck as she turned seeing the leash connecting to her. Marcus then claimed that she was his making the looks turn away, including ol' raisin bran. Turning Liss smiled at him and then turned to George. "I shall love him and pet him and feed him and call him George." George then mentioned something about a well. "We can get some water in a little bit. We need to make sure we don't lose sight of our..." Boris was gone. Septi was gone. Jess was still in the crowd... Oh lord. "Okay George... Do you know anything about how the human "pasture" works so we can free them?" Everyone had split up but something in her gut did not like the fact that Boris was gone, but attracting attention to herself was not a good thing. "M...Marcus... Please keep a good hold on the leash. Looking over at her new friend she tried to fix up his hair. "Why wouldn't the vampires take care of their food if they are keeping them as livestock?' Liss kept a close eye on the man and motioned back to Desmond. "Let's group back up." Looking around Liss frowned. "Come on Jess!!"

"I agree. It wasn't this terrible when I was here with my master," Desmond replied. "But I do not think we can do much. If we were to do anything, there are eyes and ears everywhere."

Jessica sighed deeply, "Liss.... what are you even gonns do with... George?. He's a human being not a pet, you do know that you can't keep him right?". She looked so happy tho, like if she had done a sort of accomplishment, "We'll solve this later, let's find the others", and she started to head back to the others and paid attention to the rest of her team, Septimius, Ahriman and Desmond were fairly near her, Gabriel... Otael, Marcus, Lissette,Ravin, Adric and..... Boris?....Like a sort of scanner she focused on each person's voices and steps, looking for one in particular that seemed familiar. Apparently Boris was walking and then suddenly stopped at a man's voice, she barely heard what he was saying... but the man was way too close from him. Jessica walked by the group and said "Guys, let's regroup..." motioning her head towards Boris' location wanting her group to follow up as she started to walk towards the man.
