But still they stole and broke the law. They killed for money and loot. Pirates actually had barely any good morals. I'm pretty sure they didn't give a crap about sex, religion or being gay cause all they wanted to do is just get money and loot.

Pirates are just robbers of the sea. I'm pretty sure a lot of Thief's nowadays just robbing banks didn't care about people being gay, religious or female robbers. All they wanted to do is have a band of people and rob loot from people.

What? Who told you ninjas steal because someone told them? I guess you could say some ninjas were thief's. But ninjas are actually really skilled people who specialize in Japanese martial arts and ninjutsu. They weren't known for stealing and robbing people. But of course people frame them as hired thief's. Which is not what a true ninja is. A true ninja as I have already stated is someone who specializes in skills.

Understanding that this is a joke, pirate didn't wear eye-patches because they lost an eye, they did it to keep one adjusted to the dark.

People have done infinitely worse under the safety of the "law".

Many fell into piracy during a time where if someone told you you were going to be in the navy, you were just in the navy. Like, you could be straight up kidnapped for it, legally. You can expect there to be a response to that sort of thing.

For more examples of the darkness throughout history, just look at your own background.

For example, I'm a Catholic American male of German decent.

Catholic: The Crusades
American: Slaves/The Slaughter of the Native Americans
Male: All kinds of abuse against women
German: The Holocaust

Arcing back to Catholics though, have you had any ninja popes?

This fun little quick read explains why what most people think about ninjas is wrong. A majority were just everyday people with no "super martial arts" skills. "Ninja" was essentially synonymous with "spy" or "espionage agent." There were different types of course, and yes, there were assassins. But wearing flashy black suits and using exclusively swords and throwing stars and junk is bonafide wrong. I actually remember reading an article stating that the general use of throwing stars was diversionary and blinding tactics, to make it easier for them to escape. Not killing weapons. As for stealing swords off samurai, while it did happen at times, it was pretty uncommon because their swords were highly valuable and pretty traceable (they do love their unique swords, and swordsmiths tend to recognize certain building styles).

I still feel ninjas are better because, well, ninjas were everyday dudes. Hell, join the CIA and you could essentially be a modern day ninja. And Crank, while we may not have any popes, we do have a very fancy doctor.

I have deeply considered both sides of this discussion, but, at the end of the day, I will always side with the more alcoholic option.
