Have you ever had any near-death situations?
Post em' here. Situations you can remember, not what anyone else told you.

Here's mine:

In Philippines, Halloween we went to the cemetery to remember the deceased. Well, the cemetery was placed right above a 20 foot cliff, and there was a rushing river right under the cliff. I was about 7, and I was sad thinking about people I missed who I would never see again. I sat on the edge of the cliff, and my sister pushed me(That stupid b***h.) I almost fell and died, but thank god there was a railing I could jump to before I lost my balance completely.

Anyways, what are your stories?

Holy fucking shit dude. I hope you realise how lucky you are.

I got E-coli once as a baby. That's as close as I ever got to death (thankfully) so far.

As a baby I had a condition where I just wouldn't eat. I was too weak to do anything, including eat, and it came to the point where i was extremely thin, small and unhealthy. Chances are I would've died within the week if my condition hadn't changed.

I only survived through lots of prayer and faith.

I've had a lot of these, so rather than recounting each one, I'll pick 2 of the worst.

1. When I was 6, I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Yeah, yeah, big life-altering thing, but that's not the experience. It's pretty much the cause of the experience (and others later in life). Anyways, about... two or three months later, I was sleeping in my mother's bed (get your laughs out now, I was and am a mama's boy), when I had this nightmare. I can still remember it crisply, because it was my first lucid nightmare. I was in this all white room. I couldn't see corners or anything, I just knew it was a room because there was a wall behind me I couldn't get past, and could put my hands on. In front of me, though, was a black figure. It was in a cape, and it was the only thing I could see besides myself. It started raising up, and I realized it was a Nosferatu, a vampire. Realizing it was a dream, I tried waking up. It didn't work. I started punching myself and it hurt badly. Still, nothing. I was panicking pretty hard at this point, and the Nosferatu was coming towards me. Out of nowhere, it lunged at me and picked me up, and while I'm screaming, plunges it's fangs in my neck. As soon as they connect, I wake up screaming, and my mother checks my BG (blood glucose), and we find out I was at such dangerously low levels that I'd have fallen into a coma or likely died if I hadn't woken up screaming.

2. When I was 10, me and my brother were playing in a little kiddy pool in our yard. Now, me and my brother rough housed a lot, but we never really hurt each other badly. So, my little brother, deciding that now was a fun time to wrestle, sat on my head in the pool. Now, we're roughly 2 1/2 years apart, so our weights weren't super far away, and being 10, I wasn't super strong. So I've got a kid sitting on my head in a foot of water, and he isn't getting up because he wants to "win the match." I very nearly drowned until my mother picked him up off me and gave me some mouth to mouth to get the water out. I avoided swimming for the next two years, and switched to showers.

When I was 3 years old, my brother was "taking care" of me in the living room but I went to the kitchen, open the oven then I get on top of the oven trying to get my milk and the stove fall on top of me but before that, I jump but I hurt myself with and object (I dont remember what it was) near my eye, the doctor put me seven stitches.

Now I have a scar for the rest of my life.

Well...my "near death" story is the story I posted on the childhood story thread. So I'll just quote it.

Nice thread! I remember when I was years old, I was chasing my sister in the house. She went in her room and shut the door so I wouldn't get her. However I put too much force while pushing the door that I shuttered the glass on it(it was cheap glass an wood door). The glass wounded me(duh) and thus I acuired my first manly scar(on my nose).

The thing is that the glass made a big gash on my wrist, really close to my veins. I didn't realise how serious it was then...

I personally don't have near death situations, but I witnessed how one of my friends almost getting ran over by a bus.

At that time we were kids, you know, playing without thinking about the future and safety. So one day we decided to go to a hotel called ''Olimp'' which was like the highest point of the town. The road from the parking slots down to the boulevard was long about 200 meters and extremely inclined. As kids we always tried to drift on the sand that was covering the road and perform spins and other 'cool' stunts. However, one of my 'smart' friends decided to act like a badass and drift right infront of the traffic lights stopping with a spin right before going on the boulevard.

As he squeezed the brake his back wheel started drifting in the sand on the road and he eventually lost balance causing him to fall down with the bike, causing him to slide beyond the traffic lights on the boulevard just as a public bus was coming his way. Fortunately for him, he slided right underneath the bus 1 meter alway from the back wheels' sure death.

He never rode a bike again.

Oh yeah. That reminds me of my summer-vacation in Philippines. (Last summer. ) I'm 13.
My friend group where I live liked to play basketball, and word got out that it was impossible to get a basketball from me.
There was a garbage truck coming, and I had the basketball.
My youngest friend there tried to get the basketball from me, and I dodged it and he hit my arm instead.

My body almost got ran over in half, but I managed to get out right before the wheel hit me.
The basketball did not live, but I did.

I have a nightmare every night thinking about how I would've died and how it would've looked like if I didn't move myself in that second.

Every day we drive on the highway we're a small slip of the hand away from death.

I haven't really had any near death experiences where I would have actually died if things had went a bit worse, though. Not to say I haven't been in a decent number of Bad Situations before.

I was once assaulted in an alleyway and left for dead with a really bad head wound and a stab wound in my stomach for an hour until someone found my and took me to the emergency room. That was about a year ago.

I was maybe thirteen when some drunk driver asshat hit me with his truck. Broke about twenty bones in the left side of my body, and the internal bleeding was to the degree that they were seriously considering operating in the ambulance. I just got lucky and made it to the hospital without dying, they put me through and here I am now.

I was almost hit by a van once while absent mindedly crossing the street and some dude grabbed me back out of the way
He was all like, "what the fuck are you doing little bro, pay attention"
