Before I forget again, there is one thing that I do not accept: deeming my art as "lack of effort"
I don't remember showing to anyone of you guys some art I made: how can you tell I didn't put effort? For me it's way better if you tell me that it is too simple, it lacks a background or something like that. I don't think you were behind me when I was drawing it
PS
With this I don't want to bitch on my placing, but on how you input my judgment
No you're right, I came off in a very unfair tone. I guess I was just expecting more given the amount of time everyone had to work on it. I really did like the idea behind your character, I just feel like there's so much more you could've added onto it to make it better is all, and that's why I feel like the effort level was low.
I put probably 48+ hours into my art and I didn't get anything for it because it didn't "Follow the theme"
I got a five total and ended up tying with a bunch of people.
I assume I scored a 1 in originality "Because swordsman is just more generic than standard animu style apparently" and a 1 in the theme department.
I'm not surprised zaix won it all but I wont pretend I'm not disappointed that I got nothing to show for it.
I'm not going to lie, it was really hard for me to decide which is why I put the three or four people I was having a hard time with up for discussion to see what the general idea was. I don't doubt the amount of time that you've put into it, and I can totally relate to the feeling. I've taken such a long break from seriously animating that it takes me so fucking long to get one simple run loop to look acceptable.
As for the whole Drone/Camila/points situation goes, the points system was a reference I was using to refer back to everyone's art as I was judging it. I went through and rated everyone's art at least ten time to try to average everything out, and honestly at the end of it all I feel like their art is far too close for me to decide upon. I really love Drone's style, and in the end I feel like that's why my first impression was so great for his. Comparing his art to Camila's is really hard because they're so different, and I was honestly at my wits end trying to decide between the two. I mentioned something to Camila about just wanting to flip a coin. I'm not going to lie, and I'm sorry Cami, but yes, she did come off as extremely jelly of Drone ever since she read the first post (It's true, Cami). However, I am not biased or easily influenced by someone's words. If that was the case I would've probably picked Jutsu over them both because he's my homeboi and I love him. If I was judging this off of style preference Drone probably would've gotten first. I was just trying to keep this as level and fair as possible, and I spent many hours staring back and forth at the final fours artwork. So please don't think it was some easily biased decision. I've actually been thinking about shoveling out more funds for fourth and fifth places as well because I liked everyone's art so much I feel like it's deserving of it, but that will push the payday back a few days because paypal is ghetto.
