yo stop hatin, it's up to a voteee, just git gud
honestly though, even though arch said I had the perfect example of what it should be, I deviated form that pretty heavily for the sake of prettiness so

well it's nice to see that you and the contest runner are in cahoots.

To be honest he gave a pretty vague topic.

not really bro.

The theme to the competition is, Character Development.

I say its not that vague of a topic.

That being said I think that http://animevishal.deviantart.com/art/Behind-the-light-524971142

and http://ahmadam.deviantart.com/art/Foreshadowing-522885825

follow the theme pretty well.

I'm still going to let this run for a few more hours since it's 1:36am eastern.

To be honest there are several submissions that I really really really really really like and I feel like I'm between a rock and a hard place trying to judge which ones I like the most. I've been thinking about putting it to a poll but I don't want to make this a popularity contest, since some people think that I play favorites :/

Well, all I know is that inside I'm panicked because my general styles of art aren't exactly super detailed or super amazing. I mostly draw cartoons, and cartoon-y things.

The competition is about who "solved the problem correctly", while nice art looks nice, if you were totally off on the theme then there's really no point in even looking at the submission. Relax Azure, everyone here has very different styles of artwork, and if you don't rank, so what? It just means you got more practice in, and doing competitions always helps you gauge yourself on how good you are at solving artistic problems and what you can improve upon. Win or lose, it's not a waste.

Good point. Hey, Arch, could you give feedback on the entries, so those of us who don't win can know where to start for improvement?

That might be a bit much. XD He already has to pick out which ones are executed the best. If he's up for that though, that would be cool.

You're right. Writing reviews for 12 entrants over two sites might be asking just a bit much of him. But the idea's out there. :3

Dang it Drone XD both you and Vishal, I swear. Poor Arch, he's going to have a tough time choosing between some of these entries.

It's pretty much like Zaix said. I somewhat touched base on it over at HD, but I'm basically looking for the theme here. Obviously quality will play a part in it because the drawing has to be easy to look at in my opinion. I'm also not super critical art guy, so I won't get into criticism on everyone's entries, Azure. I'll comment about what I liked and noticed in relation to the theme, but I'm still a noobie so I don't want the blind leading the blind or anything here.

I'll probably give this about two more hours if anyone wants to make some final touches or anything.

Cool that I got time for touch ups lmao, I forgot some of the important features of my own character (horns, face markings) went ahead and added those in
Everyone really did an amazing job though, it's seriously going to be a tough decision
I thought it was going to be up to a vote like last time, but I guess Arch is doing it all himself for this one

*is tempted to sneak downstairs and make more edits*

Haha nah, sometimes you just gotta leave a piece as is, over-editing is over-editing. I need to check yours out again Drone, I hate it when I forget stuff in a picture. XD You better place man, otherwise imma be hella disappointed.
