Childish Gambino is pretty typical rap, but he has some really clever lines slipped into his songs. I laugh listening to it and it has a nice flow to it I like.
“A nigga off the chain, I Abraham Lincoln this.”
“Because 69 is the only dinner for two"
"fly girl on her knees she dont wanna come near me,
My dick is too big, theres a big bang theory"
Here's one song with a lot of clever lines in it.

Quote from SaltWhat do you guys think of alternative rock as a genre? I think it's too generic to be put into a separate genre and should be broken down. One of my favourite alternative rock bands is Diablo Swing Orchestra.
Also Progressive rock is cool.
Just going off the variety I hear on 89x (an alternative Rock Station) you're probably got a good point. There are definitely some sounds I don't like hearing like Marilin Manson (I think that's his name?) for instance, just sounds too unsettling for me and I have a really strict line with how often and the degree of screams I can tolerate, which Sycamour treads directly on.
On the topic of Alternative Rock though, is there a specific reason everyone despises Nickleback with such a burning, undying passion? Personally I like them, and think they have a pretty good range of songs between the more aggressive like Burn it to the Ground, emotional like Lullaby, lighthearted like Rockstar and some that tackle heavy topics like Just to get High.
That being said, I realize they have a lot of sex songs, but they're hardly the worst.
I don't know, I never quite got all the hate and I've been pretty aware of it since my state tried petitioning against them for the Thanksgiving Day Football game a few years back.

I'm loving this thread already >:D
I've been hooked on this recently
My only problem is that from what I've seen I'm the only dubstep / glitch hop fan here...

Let's not forget "Brand new whips for these niggas like slavery"
Or, "This asian dude, I stole his girl and now we got that kobe beef"

People hate nickelback not because they are bad, but because they portray the most cliche and stereotypical rock band ever.

Not because the topic hasn't came up it means you're the only one.

Damn, you came at his life.
What are some other fast paced somewhat clever rappers? Other than the obvious like jayz, eminem, kendrick lamar, etc.

Migos. Nah, just playing. You might be into them though, I know a lot of people that are.
Tech N9ne, Snow Tha Product, Montana of 300, Lupe Fiasco, Ace Hood (really underrated but this guy is great, been killing beats lately), ScHoolboy Q to some extent. Wrekonize & Twisted Insane both proved themselves in that song with Tech N9ne and might be what you're looking for but I haven't heard much else from them. MGK can spit nasty but surrounds himself but he's a trap artist and most of his songs have features that might not be your cup of tea but then again, I don't really know what you're into. Bone Thugs-n-Harmony/Krayzie Bone, of course. I've heard much about Twista but not much from him, you might like him but he's generally enjoyed by backpackers and shit (along with Tech N9ne's crew) so I don't know what to tell you. Royce da 5'9 is dope as well. Hate to be the one to bring this guy up but before he fell and in some of real recent work too, Lil Wayne isn't really the terrible piece of shit he's made out to be.
This was the off top of my head so I apologize for the incongruency of the list.

Yaaaaaas, preach it brotha~
Let me kinda extend that post and say that (in my opinion) EVERYONE signed to Strange Music kills shit.
They all have their own unique style and being independent/underground artists, they are able to freely express those styles.
