Has anyone had any thought on the new progress of virtual reality gaming and full immersion. I for one see it being developed in the near future and the science of today pretty much has the whole thing worked out except for the safety kinks and environment/AI immersion.

I bet it's going to be used for interactive porn most of the time.

I'm beginning to get an idea of what's wrong with everybody in this forum.
They think too short-sightedly.
It'd be better off with some way to actually output sensory aside from sight/sound, THEN interactive pr0n.

BAck to the subject matter, I think technology is approaching a full dive type of immersion very rapidly.
We already have the Oculus Rift (sight/sound) and the Virtuix Omni (movement) is going to be coming out soon, and I've heard (not entirely sure of this) that there are vests you can get (for shooting games specifically) that slightly shock you where you got hit in the game (limited touch). You feel a kind of pressure, but no real pain.

I'd love to see games like Amnesia, or even Pokemon adapted to a VR sort of console. With this new VR technology the indistry of videogames will be for sure the most powerful in the world in a couple years more.

Pokemon with actual motion will become a running/biking exercise. The amount of time you have to actually run around in tall grass to keep training your pokemon will be tiring, hah.
Just think of fighting games in VR with motion capture sensors and sensory vests.

It'd be fuckin infuriating in my opinion. You'd have to fight people who're at your same level of fighting, or there'd be a move list you'd have to adhere to that would be unresponsive as hell. It would also hurt expecially games like Tekken, Capcom v. Marvel, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, and such. Unless that's not what you mean by sensory vests.

Thats what I meant on sensory vests. They will hurt but not extreme pain like actually getting hit, maybe small pressure.

Holy shit, imagine playing Mirrors Edge on this kinda technology.

Imagine getting stuck inside a game for a couple of years like the anime "Sword Art Online". I think that's both scary and awesome!

Pain is one thing but so far they are thinking of using the dreamscape to do it so nap = online gaming
, because of the effects of sleep paralysis this is possible
