Hasn't Kazumi basically revealed he is one of the Ghosts anyway?

no his question is about an alternate ability i gave to all the ghosts. an ability that only he was really using that is more cosmetic than effectual. I decided to just cancel it for all the ghosts involved as it wasnt quite popular

Since some of the tracks decreased and increased total CC output, I will not be revealing who went in what track or got what Items. You will receieve your Item PM soon instead. All these useless tidbits and statistics as to who got what will be revealed when the whole race is over.

I'll just forego the flavor now because this next Leg has multiple Rounds pending and I'm kinda tired. Don't worry, this 2nd-to-the-last Island is gonna be fun...

Leg 7 Results
Exilement (+25)
***Ghost 1***
***Ghost 2***
Devour (+15)
Veir (+10)

Johny Bravo's kart wobbles as the nanites latch onto his wild ride, overwhelming him and causing him to veer into the corner and explode full force.
EclairCat has been unmasked as one of the ghosts! His soul unravels alongside her cohorts ErrorBlender and Mustika

Johny has been burning rubber since the beginning of the race. I guess he just plum ran out despite having so much more to give :/

Eighth Leg: 8-Bit Battlefield (Green Island)

The 4 Racers (and one Ghost) find themselves side by side as they become constricted to a single lane on the same track. Ahead of them, the landscape morphs and materializes as pixels invade from the horizon, covering the whole land in nothing but bleak darkness with light green undertones. An interface and a couple of electronic bubbles pop up in front of each racer, displaying a most familiar UI: Health, Ammo, Status, and Inventory (the latter of which only privately shown). A futuristic visor lowers on each driver's face, indoctrinating them into the videogame realm. Their own vehicles had in fact grown a few imaginary weapons of their own...

Instructions:
1) CC's wagered from the Previous Leg are now deducted from your current CC Pool.
2) Unlike the last rounds, your CC wagered will not affect your placing. Instead they will be requisitioned as ammo for an oncoming wargame. Read on, to find out how to play it.

SPECIAL TRACK GIMMICK: FIRST-PERSON RAIL SHOOTER
- Everyone is currently riding on a single lane on an unchangeable track, armed with some ARG cannons and a health UI of all things. You can change your speed, but only to better take aim at other people. You can't really 'win' through racing here.
- Everyone starts with 3 Life. Whoever is shot and reduced to 0 first is eliminated from this Leg. You cannot lose more than 1 LP in a single round.
- If there is a tie in losing all your LP, the Racer with the least CC will be eliminated.
- CC Pts in this Leg are weaponized to act as ammo and shields. The simulation will run a series of mini-rounds within this Leg and will repeat until the logical conclusion is reached.

- Everyone thus has 2 Possible Options. You MUST choose one and CANNOT choose both:
a) Shoot Target
- You can aim at as many people as possible for as long as you are willing to spend CC for it. This will be recorded as a simultaneous action. Remember that only the shots that hit successfully will expend any CC.
- More than 1 person can focus fire on the same person to attack that person for the combined CC Value. Focus Fire destroys shields.
- If 2 shots oppose each other, the one with the higher CC value will hit successfully. Thus, only the winner's CC's are expended.

b) Arm Shield
- You can unconventionally charge your own CC Bullets to shield yourself from harm.
- Upon successful blocking, a default 10% of your CC Pool is expended. In addition, your opponent loses 1 Life.
- If the shield blocks nothing, your charged CCs will explode in your face, decreasing you by 1 Life. Your CCs are unharmed though.

Examples:
Shooting and Blocking 101 (Click to Show)
Focus Fire 101 (Click to Show)
Defense is for Wussies (Click to Show)
Focus Fire 102 (Click to Show)

tl;dr How does this Leg work?
Did you Shoot him?
--> Yes: Did he also shoot you or did he Shield?
-------> Shielded: You take the hit, his CC goes down by 10%.
-------> Shot Back: Is his CC Value higher than yours?
------------------> Yes: You take the hit and he loses CC wagered.
------------------> No: He takes the hit and you lose the CC wagered.

--> No, I Shielded: Was he shooting at you?
------------------> No: You take the hit. He loses CC.
------------------> Yes: Is he alone?
-----------------------> Yes: You lose 10% of your CC. He takes the hit.
-----------------------> No: You take the hit. They lose CC.

SAMPLE PM TITLE FOR SHOOTING: Shoot 45 Veir | 35 Exilement | 100 Nish <--- This means that you are loading your gun with 45 CC Bullets to shoot Veir, 35 CC Bullets to shoot Exilement, and 100 CC Bullets to shoot Nish.

SAMPLE PM TITLE FOR SHIELDING: Shield <---- And that's it.

Finally, end-Leg bonuses will still apply depending on the remaining CC when the smoke clears. Oh and a few more things...

Revenant Rules
- The remaining Revenant cannot be shot at and cannot Shield. They can only shoot Ghost Bullets.
- Ghost Bullets act like regular CC Bullets but take effect ONLY in Focus Fires. If a Revenant shoots alone, their CC Bullet Values do not do anything and will be treated as if they never shot at all.
- Finally, the Green Island is the limitations for the Convergence. Ergo, after the 8th Leg, the Revenant will dissipate on its own!

Using Items
- The Items acquired in the previous Round can be used here in several ways:
OIL SLICK - Only the first function is usable. You can consume it to gain CCs needed to shoot and shield.
ENERGIZER - Only affects the Round in which you activated it. Shooting someone and shielding will cost NO CCs.
GLASS ORB - Only the first function is usable. You can decrease an opponent's CC Pool by 30% to debilitate them. I will reveal when this Item is being used.
MAGNA MINE - Ahahahah. As promised. If you won this thing in the last Leg, you are granted shield against ONE LP-reducing Hit, essentially giving you 4 Lives. You cannot "not use" this in this Leg. It automatically activates. (for the geek wondering, the Magna Mine is a floating Magnetic Mine that displaces the racer with an extra forcefield, hence the name).

***3) For Convinience's sake, please PM me with the CC Value IN THE TITLE OF YOUR PM. This is so I don't have to open tabs of PMs and I can recheck the values easily. If you need to actually PM something please say so (like put a in your PM Title).***

4) For how your actions are resolved as well as other rules, please refer to the Front Page FAQ.
5) The deadline for submission of CC's is 48 Hours from this post. Good Luck.

You may send your PMs now. Good luck!

Basically they can only shoot at other racers. But those bullets only take effect if another user is firing at the same target.

So if a ghsot is shooting Nish and no one else is doing it, their bullets have no effect.

Hewitt tell us once you've sent out the Item PMs. That way we know whether we got any items for sure or not instead of wondering whether or not you haven't gotten around to sending the PMs yet.

Item PMs sent.

Btw, the sample reports in my Examples...those are how the actual Battle Reports will be displayed. So all the racers will be aware of how much their opponent's have lost.

Item PMs sent.

Oh :(

Edit: So it doesn't matter if we shield if two people fire at you, yeah? Shielding is irrelevant if more than 1 person fires at you.

Yes. But they will in turn risk losing their CCs in the process.

This battle system is also a prototype for my upcoming Btooom forum game. So, thanks for inadverdently testing the prototype XD

And if you counter-fire that almost seem to act as a shield?

As in, lets say:

Nish shoots at Devour for 80, Exilement for 80 and Veir for 80.
Exilement shoots Nish for 40
Devour shoots Nish for 30
Veir shoots Nish for 10.

What happens in this scenario?

Similarly,

Nish shoots at Devour for 85, Exilement for 85 and Veir for 85.
Exilement shoots Nish for 40
Devour shoots Nish for 30
Veir shoots Nish for 10.

What happens in this scenario?

Apparently I can only provide the answer for the 2nd scenario of yours instead of the first because I think there might be possibilities for the 1st scenario to gain tie result (though will still get Veir eliminated due to the lower CC). So I'll leave the 1st to Hewitt by now.

Onto the 2nd scenario:
Quote from Nish
Nish shoots at Devour for 85, Exilement for 85 and Veir for 85.
Exilement shoots Nish for 40
Devour shoots Nish for 30
Veir shoots Nish for 10.

What happens in this scenario?

Based on Hewitt's "Focus Fire 101" and his schemes for tl;dr, here's the result:

Nish >> -255 CC (85 x 3)
Exilement >> -1LP
Devour >> -1LP
Veir >> -1LP + gets eliminated on this Leg due to the lower CC compared to the other 3.

Both Exilement, Devour, and Veir won't get their CC decreased because apparently Nish spent his CC higher than theirs. While Nish won't lose his LP/Life Point because he wagered highest CC among the other 3.

And dayum, think it was indeed EclairCat's time to be called first for previous leg lol. Oh wells, GG.

No, not at all.

Inspired by that scene where the chick plans to blow herself up whenever a man gets close to her in Btooom. True Story

Hewitt, so it is possible to kill someone this round if 3 different people attack that person and kill him right?

Or is it possible to lose only one life, since you're counting only the highest shot?
