This is why its on a digital format so that anyone can come in and play. Come on, Hewitt. :D

Also, sorry Veir, my internet was shitty the last time we battled.

im not a magic player, damnit. i learned a bit of it but never really got into it. If this was ygo i'd be okay for a game or two but i havent made anything past the 5D era and I dont play with the top archetypes

That's what Battle-Con and AI Mode is for. (yes Error, it exists)

Lol, just searched it and lo and behold it does exist. Hah.

Still, I'll manage one after my current game.

Stickpage Name: Zaix
Cockatrice Name: Zaix
Favorite Color: Black/Blue
(haven't experimented much)
Favorite Card: Swarm of Bloodflies, Ruthless Deathfang

Super new to MtG, my friend wanted me to get into it and then my girlfriend sealed the deal when she started playing as well, so I had to start. So far, I've created a wonderfully crappy Black/Blue control deck based around exploit using only the starter pack and a couple of boosters, which did horribly, and a newer exploit deck made using proxies until I can build up a good library.

Also, there's a cool site called tappedout.net that allows you to make decks and get feedback on them, as well as give you draw percentages, a visualized mana curve, etc. It might be worth a look if anyone is interested.

I am disappointed at the lack of interest for Blue players
Because everyone here had a bad brush with control players, especially me. I'm gonna make the saltiest anti-counterspell deck ever.

But never ever taking a turn while the Blue guy wipes the floor with you is fun. You can multitask and do other things

Right? Figuring out my schedule for the week was one of my favorite pass times playing my friends white/blue deck. I was one organized badass.

I go to that site to test play too. Try MTGVault too, it isn't as good as TappedOut though but its worth a look.

You know what's an awesome card? Curse of the Cabal. And I'm gonna start packing it in my indestructible deck to supplement my board wipes.

Whenever I play against Indestructibles, I'm always glad I run black. Since black can eliminate those easily. Usually.

I've got a modern deck compiled, it isn't refined yet. But I'll need to play some games to figure out how to refine it.

I love the new eldrazi cards. Especially that heavy hitting Ulamog. Oh lordy he makes me moist.

Other people seem to have negative reception to it, although they seem to keep forgetting that there's the next two sets that will complement it.

Yeah giving a set a negative reception is just re-arranging the furniture on the deck of the titanic, pointless. They need to make money because they're a business.

But still, what I don't like is how every creature has like 2-3 types now. Like oh it's a vampire, cleric, ally, eldrazi, dragon, demon, soldier. And how instead of coming up with interesting new cards we're basically just flashing back to old sets that were successful in the past.

I mean, I was excited to see this thread bumped because I love games, but looking at these singles I am extremely disappointed. These cards might be new, but I can tell there's nothing new to play here. It's all the same old.
