I'm trying to get better with Olimar, because despite his nerfs, people say he is still a pretty good fighter. Any tips?

Olimar's roll is the perfect length to roll away and toss out a smash. Do that. Almost always have a purple. If you like comboing off of grabs, never have a blue, their knockback is too much. Don't stale your up smash or up throw until you know they'll kill. Use side b to space your opponent and punish if they try to knock off a pikmin. Throw pikmin on people if they charge a smash attack to extend the hitbox. Know which pikmin counter which attacks. That's all I can put for now. I'll be back to put more.

Pressing B for Olimar makes him pluck a pikmin, not shoot fire, if Olimar is what you're talking about.
I can only assume you're talking about Mario, Luigi, Captain Falcon, Bowser, or Charizard.

And... everyone knows that pressing B may possibly result in a fire attack. So what are you trying to say?

Good luck man! Hopefully you won't need it though :)

Speaking of tournaments, I went to one this weekend. I did... well, although I could've done much better. I only managed to take out two people (one in winners, one in losers) before being eliminated. It was a great learning experience though, and I'm noticing my improvement as I managed to take games from people I wasn't even close to beating before (one of them being the fourth best in our group.)

I need to find a group in the first place! Participating is just half of my goal. I'm hoping to finally make some friends in this dinky-ass little town. If I can meet people to practice with in real life and not just spam For Glory endlessly, I'll be a happy man.

thx btw :o

The Smash tournament turned out to be a lot more casual than I was expecting. It's really just a hangout where everyone chats and takes turns playing Smash, though the tournament part is still very real. It didn't happen this time though because everyone except for the host was gone for a basketball game. So instead, the two of us just played Smash 4 for a few hours. I was a lot better than him though, so we switched to Project M after a while and exhanged numbers to meet up some other time for practices. It was good times :o

He kept on saying that the stuff I did with Corrin was really cool, so that was a nice confidence booster. Maybe next week I'll be able to make more friends and totally shine.

Just me and the host. No one else lmao

On a full day, I imagine there will be no more than 8-12 maybe? It's pretty small. I guess it'll be more of a hangout than a tournament place.
