I definitely will if these conditions are met:
1. The other 19 is a group predominantly made up of straight women (the rest that aren't straight women must only be bisexual women)
2. All of which are very mentally stable
3. All of which are around my age (3 years age gap maximum)
4. All of which are very hot

Kidding aside, if the conditions are right then yeah. I will.

I don't really have that much to leave behind. I'm not really as attached to my family as some are, I'm that "expendable" friend, I don't have any ambition. Sure I'll miss a lot of things, but I'm not that sentimental and I can get over things like that. It's not even because I want to go down in history or because I want to help advance the human race, it's just that it seems like a good way to keep myself alive while not having to worry about a lot of things. If we have to take up gardening so that we can be self-sustaining in Mars and eat the same food everyday and basically have a boring life there, then that might make me hesitate but it's not that bad a deal and I'll still take it. Maybe whoever will send me there will provide me a laptop that has lots of movies, books, TV shows, anime, games, songs, applications, then I can probably squeeze out 10 years without getting too bored. I can learn about things that I actually want to learn about. If we end up successful, there will inevitably be more people who will join us anyway so it's not like I'll be perpetually stuck with the same 19 people, and if we fail then we'd die and I don't think dying is all that bad.

so in short, I'd say yes because I'm so lazy to fulfill the role I have in this world, and this is a good way to rid myself of everyone else's expectations without completely disappointing them.

You can try playing sports up there. Bring a handheld electronic or something to keep you entertained. Or get books. Books are portable and require no batteries. You can animate something up in Mars, then send it to us to watch.
Or go to this site

i would not go to mars. it has no things to live off of, and it would be freezing as hell... wait not hell, but a lot colder than the coldest place on Earth.

Why would anyone go to Mars, there would be nothing to do.

the sole purpose of those 20 or so people going to Mars would be too make children, so that in 150 years or so there would be a large population of people on Mars, and we could start colonies or towns on Mars.

Mars is such a beautiful place, it's breathless.

First Mars stand up comedian! However Mars based material will probably get old after a while.

I think our science nowadays might be able to make it hospitable and apparently make some colony there or something.

I would live my life to it's fullest. After all that when I'm old and tired with life (twilight years), then I'd go to Mars. Go with my partner and spend whatever little years we have left there.

But how are they going to have children, and if they had children what are they going to do (other than eating up resources). They won't be able to sit in that on tent-house thing all day. Then one of them gets the bright idea to go outside and they all die

They'll have children the same way everyone else does. And you can say all children do on this planet is eat up resources, but this mission's objective is to attempt to populate Mars, something you will need offspring for. Plus I doubt children are as stupid as you're making them out to be to go out in an area with no oxygen in a barely inhabited planet.
