You're Lifeless If you don't go out and Explore what's around you (unless It's a very Dangerous Adventure)

Quote from RosieThey'll have children the same way everyone else does. And you can say all children do on this planet is eat up resources, but this mission's objective is to attempt to populate Mars, something you will need offspring for. Plus I doubt children are as stupid as you're making them out to be to go out in an area with no oxygen in a barely inhabited planet.
Well not as much as stupidity but more like they are curious and want to do their own thing: an example a kid touches hot stove even though parents told them not to.And if they they don't do this they would die of boredom. All that's going to be there is things for science. If there was things to play with they will get bored of it.

Hm lets see
Earth: Being able to stay at a familiar place with my friends and family. Also being able to use wifi and play video games with people around the world
Mars: you're on a planet ... With some other people .... Woooo
Why would I want to go to Mars?

simple. add a password to the doors, so that the children can't get out.

The children would end up growing up in a different environment. They won't be as centered around entertainment as people here are. Did children who were early settlers of the american colonies "die of boredom" because they couldn't go to the theater?

Pretty much only they rich people went to theaters no one else had the money to or they lived on farms away from town. Any most children of early american colonies worked on farms they had something to do and they had large families. First of all i doubt the kids will be working (well at least not on the important stuff). Second of all there can't be large families there is simply not enough space for all of them.

I just realized the best part of Mars is it's lack of Obsidium and Externus. Sign me up immediately.

go to mars and do what exactly? i'm sure there will be plenty of maintenance shit and copulation to do, but there's going to be an assload of free time if there's only 20 people around. i'd need to bring an entire library up there to have anything to do, i highly doubt there's a chinese herb shop on mars, and the lack of chill natural forests and shit will grate on me quite quickly. not to mention i'm way too unhealthy for space travel in the first place

besides, it takes about 260 days to get to Mars, which would make me die of boredom, if I ever went.

Well due to the earth getting hotter and hotter every year, we would need to go to Mars, so I wouldn't right now, until they make Mars a little more efficient to live there with out using 80's styled space suits.
