Well if you're using a randomizer I'll have no way of knowing then.
But if you're just reshuffling what's already existing, it will most likely be comedy or tragedy. The others are too hard to be "Round 2", and it can't be Mystery because that was the actual R2 one.
Please make the next one comedy Im so ready

There might be a better place for finished short story votes than the OLit-thread. After this tournament is done new people will be looking there and be like "The fuck is all of this about?" instead of possible checking out some of the other cool stuff or kind of more important: things like the advice for wRHG-characters.
Maybe something like an own section for the voting on this tournament?
Other topic: Am I allowed to vote on the pairings since I don't participate in the tournament?

Aha, don't worry, they'll disintegrate after the round or so.
Nov 21, 2015 1:29 AM #1417381
So am I allowed to vote?

For this whole tournament, I thought that the winners of each round got a set amount of points for winning. I just learned that the 5 points per vote counts towards your total for the whole tournament, and while at first glance it works, it's actually a huge imbalanced problem. Especially with outside voters influencing the polls.
Anyone who's poll goes up at the beginning of the tournament will get like, 7-9 voters giving 5 points each. Anyone who's late because their opponent joined and never finished their part is going to get no more than 4, maybe 5 voters. If even that much. This means that regardless of how good they are, they're going lose 30 or more points compared to anyone whose poll came out early. And for no reason except random chance and bad luck.
Rather than that system, why not reward a set amount of points to each winner, loser and no-show?
Winners get 5(?) points, Losers get 2(?) points, and No-Shows get no points.
Completing challenges gives you an extra point, regardless of winning or losing.
Something like this seems fair, but the current system relies way too much on random chance and hoping that lots of people vote on their polls to be reliable...

This fixes things Hewitt had pointed out as well so I agree with this.
I will have to ask the current participants to tell me if they agree on this type of system. Below, I will summarize what Devour had said:
Tell me guys what you think. This is a tournament for all of us and I don't agree with just me and a few others deciding.
I will have to ask the current participants to tell me if they agree on this type of system. Below, I will summarize what Devour had said:
- The complete change of the votal point system. It will become as such:
-Winning a poll would give you 5 points overall instead.
-Losing a poll would give you 2 points.
-Not actually showing up would give you nothing. [I am quite lenient on this as I constantly prod people].
- The challenge point system would change as well since votals would be revamped:
-Accomplishing a challenge would garner you 2 points. [I don't agree with a single point though. This way the winner of the poll is still a point ahead if both decide on playing out a challenge]
-Losing a challenge would still lose you the equivalent amount.
- CnC points remain unchanged and a separate pool.
Tell me guys what you think. This is a tournament for all of us and I don't agree with just me and a few others deciding.

I'm okay with it, this setup might also satisfy Chromium's requests.

No objections here your honor.

Sure thang.

I agree with the new guidelines. Another thing I'd like to add though; I feel as though after a full week and no story from a participant, the other competitor who posted theirs should simply get the win. This sounds a little extreme, but the fact that we're going into Round 2 and some of the polls aren't even up yet isn't fair to the people who posted their stories in time.

Well Error, if you're changing the rules now to prevent anti-rallying, I shouldn't even have quit in the first place.
LOLJK
To everyone: I quit the tourney because I just wasted 2 workdays finishing the SF entry. I originally joined because I hadn't written anything in months and I wasn't motivated. But when that motivation encroached my IRL I had to stop. I can write now, alongside error's tourney for inspiration (even asking from him a challenge for my own), but I do not need the time constraints to do it as I will always deliver.
Thanks for having me here
I agree with this. It makes no sense that the guy who submitted on time doesn't get to even have his work posted just because the other guy is late. Deductions where deductions are due, but the honor of having his own thread (and place to comment and cnc on) should be that user's reward for submitting on time.

Aye. GuardianTempest and devi will have their threads posted right alongside Azure/Devour. Chromium and Veir have taken much too long and I've done constant prodding already.

So, everyone's okay with the new rules?
