Since I want each round to feel like an actual round, give me a challenge at the start of each one. (They don't stack, do they?)

No, they don't stack. They stick to one round.

On the first page it looks like the CnC rules are the same? 3 points for giving CnC, and an additional 3 if it's in-depth. That leaves the same problem of forcing people to CnC unless they want to lose, because that's a lot of points.
I'll already be doing Nanowrimo on top of this and having to CnC everyone's stories in depth if I don't want to be 15-30 points behind is brutal. I would still recommend making the CnC points its own thing. Maybe whoever did the most CnCing wins a Steam key?

After talking to EB on skype that's what I gathered that he wanted to do.

Quote from ErrorBlenderI will separate the scoring of CnCs. Probably an additional prize for them for the most CnC's given? I'd think that would be a fair change. Anyone object?
Yeah, I've asked that bit a while ago. Seems we have an agreement. :)

Ah, I didnt see that. I went looking on the front page for the new CnC ruling. That sounds great :)

Hey Errror, you should totally link resources and samples and authors from the various genres you host so writers can get a feel for where they should start.
at this rate, every round thread will feel like a copypasta
Also not for me to say, but 12k is exceedingly generous. Wikipedia says an average short story is a little over half that size
but whatever

I guess it's all a balance of the writer's choices. If they choose to write 12k words, they better be able to hold the reader's attention and interest for that long. Otherwise they might be shooting themselves in the foot. Seems fair to let them make that mistake for themselves, though.
I'll probably average 2k words on my stories, maybe a bit more. Bigger isn't always better :o

I will link later on the round threads themselves.

Update:
Haru has dropped out. His unfinished piece will be pitted against Chromium.
I will do my best to search for a replacement. If the replacement is willing to create a sci-fi story, then that will be used instead of Haru's unfinished piece.
I've contacted these people already, do not contact them again:
-ShadowKirby [declined]
-Caelo [pending]

Daily reminder for everyone doing episodic entries. When writing your second parts, don't write as if the reader is already caught up and has read the previous episode. Some people won't be up to date and cheaping out of having to do world building and character building is unacceptableeeeee :u

I'm just theorizing here but, I think I know what the next Genre is. I'm not going to say how I know because Error will change his original answer XD

I agree with Devour, though meant to be episodic, I feel like the stories still need the elements to be a good stand alone story. However due to being episodic, I feel like perhaps callbacks or other tidbits should be included, eluding to the past work thus linking it together for people who're reading in the correct order and tempting those first reading to go back to get some stuff.

It is for this reason that I feel the episodics will always lose when paired with a non-episodic
Wana put this theory to the test?

I have no idea where you got this idea but I haven't even made the decision yet. I use randomizers for everything, prevent my own bias. xD
