WHAT DID WE GO THROUGH THE JUMPING CHALLENGE FOR? HUH?

This

Quote from S.A. from the goddamned first post of this thread]Put some considerable amount of work into it alright? Make sure to animate the follow up action, wherever it seems necessary. There's no rush to post it 5 minutes after you've started working on it. You have at least a whole 24 hours, which is 1440 minutes. So just spending 5 minutes out of that is a waste of your resource. Remember that!
[/QUOTE]

And freaking this
[QUOTE=S.A.
Also, please don't do the challenges just for the sake of it. I don't mind if you skip any, but I will, if you post works without effort or because you felt bad.

You just ignored whatever I suggested like I'm dead to you or something.
Hate to say this, but you just spoiled what could have been the perfect morning for me.

Wow.

Now you're just being stingy.

Probably my first full body attempt that I've completed and which doesn't jump all over the place woohoo
http://sta.sh/01e9treodsbt

Zero what do you think?

1.) Stiff as hell. Go ahead, try and imitate it right now and you'll feel how mechanic it is. The back doesn't even bend. The front arm keeps the same position all the way.

2.) Unnatural. Punches aren't NORMALLY done that way, in that flow.

3.) Punch itself sticked to the air for too long.

4.) Lack of follow through movements. After the punch, even though your anticipation felt like it was going to be something big, your figure seemed to just "meh" it at the end

5.) That's not fullbody. That's a fat stickfigure with colors.

Personal Note: Stay away from complex figures when you have a hard time dealing with the basic concepts as you'll be focusing on 2 things rather than just the concept. I'm seeing a bit of improvement though, so, keep it up!

Probably too late to say this, GMR don't take it personally alright?
Zero thanks man, I'll reply tomorrow if you don't mind. Going to bed now. Good night folks.
Alright, GMR you didn't spoil my morning, I just have a bad sense of humor. Sorry, if what I said earlier hurt you in any way.

Wow, holy crap. Sorry, I won't do any more challenges then. I'll just practice on my own, (although practice is the point of this thread...)

Thanks for hostin these.

*Edit* That was a joke? Are you fucking with ME lol? Whateves, still don't feel like doing more, but I wasn't being sarcastic when I said thanks for hosting these. It's a good idea.

Aw c'mon dude.

He didn't say it THAT way

He has a point, tho. learn from all of this. I mean, look at your kick.
I know the topic was KICKS so maybe there's some sense at not drawing the arms, but that just shows you only gave it maybe like 15 mins to your animation... All the parts of the body moves when kicking, or jumping (for example, when you jump, you bend your elbows and take your arms to your back, so you can move them forwards to take more impulse, don't you?)

Maybe A.S is a little bit pissed because he tries his best to give you CnC, but you only take 15 min to do it :/ what's the point then? this is for everyone to get better, and if we don't get dedicated to it, we won't improve at all.
He told you this, but on a harder way (which may be caused for some other frustrations on his life, maybe?), but with no intentions of hurting

Yea he kinda did

Yes, the topic is kicks lol

Does time matter? If I tried my hardest and created the best animation I could, does 15 minutes really matter?

All the parts of the body moves when kicking, or jumping (for example, when you jump, you bend your elbows and take your arms to your back, so you can move them forwards to take more impulse, don't you?)

They do, however, I am a beginner at animation and I like to take things one step at a time. It's up to me to practice what I want, and I wanted to practice kicks lol.

Maybe A.S is a little bit pissed because he tries his best to give you CnC, but you only take 15 min to do it :/ what's the point then? this is for everyone to get better, and if we don't get dedicated to it, we won't improve at all.

Look, if I didn't want to get better, I wouldn't have even have DONE the animation in the first place. I would've just blown him off the first time.

He told you this, but on a harder way (which may be caused for some other frustrations on his life, maybe?), but with no intentions of hurting

If I'm going through something tough in life, that doesn't give me an excuse to be a jerk to everyone I meet and come into contact with.

I'm not even mad at him, I'm just surprised that he felt the need to deal with it that way.

You guys need to calm down.

GMR, I understand SA's statement was insulting but you have you remember that this is his thread and if you participated in it on your own volition, then SA has the right to call you out on it.

SA, while what you did sets standards(Which is something this animation community lacks), there are better ways to say it than saying "You destroyed my morning". No need to get personal.

Anyway, you guys should just make up already. Both of you were in the wrong.

Exactly, and this thread isn't necessary to my improvement, which is why I mentioned perhaps practicing on my own.

Honestly, I just want to practice my dang kicks without worrying about other limb placement.

Like I said, not mad, just surprised that he had an outburst like that.

I don't want to participate in something if someone berates me every time I try to get CnC on something, which I thought was what this thread was for, unrusting and improving. Am I wrong?

*EDIT*
Let me just say my perspective real quick:
I see the topic is kicks. I make an animation about kicks. He gives me CnC. I take his CnC, and make a new animation. He blows up at me. Like wut?

Thanks for taking it literally.

Exactly, and this thread isn't necessary to my improvement, which is why I mentioned perhaps practicing on my own.

Your point being what?

I don't care if you think NOW that you don't need this thread to improve but I'm talking about THEN that him calling you out is fine.

Honestly, I just want to practice my dang kicks without worrying about other limb placement.

RIP Animation.

I'm pretty sure SA didn't mean to berate you GMR. In fact, he already apologized, so why don't you just suck in your internet pride and accept it? Although, I do agree with you that he was pretty much a dick about it.

Anyway, honestly, criticism's should be mostly objective and directed to the animation rather than the animator to prevent personal insults(You may put so but make sure it isn't really harsh unless it's necessary). Anyway, feel free to leave this thread anytime. It's not my call or SA's.

O_o If someone tells me to calm down, usually I think that's what he meant, right?

RIP Animation.

The thing is, it would matter if I was TRYING to make full-fledged animation. I'm not sure you're seeing my point here. My point is that this thread is meant to be for unrusting and improving right? Correct me if I'm wrong. I made an animation. He then CnC'd me. I then made another animation taking his CnC into account. Nowhere in the rules does it say to add all limbs when practicing. Again, please correct me if I'm wrong, no sarcasm.

I said numerous times for exactly this reason that I wasn't mad at him. I'd already moved on. Done now. DONEEEEEEE. :P

*EDIT* I agree

*EDIT*
I said I was surprised that's how he reacted and that he blew up at me in the first place! (Lookit my last post) I actually welcomed his CnC and made a new animation using it. D: I'm not sure exactly how I'm at fault here. Please read back through the posts leading up to and after his post. MY POINT: I'm not sure why he got mad at me.

Yeah, if it was pointed at you. I said "Calm down guys" not "Calm down GMR".

Uh, sorry to break it to you buddy but that's not how improving in animation works. Sure, in effects, this could work in which you animate a specific part to get better at it but you see, you're animating a figure. A figure is a system of interdependent components. The fact that you only animated the legs even after the C&C is like an indirect insult to the person who gave the criticisms. It just shows you don't even have the patience and determination to work on the other parts(Which, mind you, is a necessity to animate since they'll be working side by side with other limbs).

In short, I get what you were trying to do but it's that way of improving is slow as hell.

*EDIT* I agree

Wut. I didn't say that you were the one at fault, I just said that both of you were in the wrong in which you didn't follow the rules of this thread. What happened after that is just all personal shizz.
