It's been a while hasn't it? Welcome to a very special kind of Roleplay. For all intents and purposes, this is indeed an RP. But in the end it's also a sort of forum game. A forum game to be the winner of the Holy Grail Wars; to be the one to have one wish, no matter how wild, granted by the omnipotent Holy Grail.

Setting:
In 1980, Japan, the Holy Grail has appeared somewhere in the country. Its location calls out to all participants of the Holy Grail war, but only the last pair of survivors will feel its pull. 5 magicians of great power have been chosen by the Grail to participate, and on their right hands is their Command Seals, which allow them to summon incredible heroes of awesome power, henceforth known as their Servants.
Using whatever means necessary, as long as they abide the rules, the Magicians and Servants must battle and outmanoeuvre one another until only one Master and Servant remain.

War Rules:
Like mentioned above, there are a few rules that must be abided.
-The common masses must not be allowed to know of the Holy Grail or the existence of Magic. Battling or casting magic in populated areas is absolutely forbidden.
-There is a neutral zone: a large estate called the Grail Manor, in which no combat is allowed for a 2-mile radius around it. This area is for talking and meeting up to discuss important matters without fear of violence.

Failure to abide by these rules will have dire consequences. A bounty will be placed on your head, offering a powerful reward to the player who manages to kill you.

The Roleplay
There is a maximum capacity of 8 players. Four of them will be Masters, and the other four will be Servants that fight for their masters.
This is both a forum game and an RP. RPing skillfully will give bonuses to PvP, and I'll elaborate on that more later.
-You will be able to take a lot of secret actions, done by PMing me. These will be shown to you when the game begins.

Masters
Masters are powerful magicians. The real masterminds behind the Grail Wars. However, their strength is dwarfed by the sheer might of their Servants. They can telepathically talk to their Servants no matter the distance.
Masters are also the real combatants of the Grail War. Their Servants are only a powerful tool to use at their disposal.
A Master's Command Seal is special. Limited to three times only, they may Command their Servant and force them obey their order no matter how they might feel about it.
Masters will get a separate Character Sheet from Servants.
-Masters supply their Servants with the mana required to exist in physical forms. If the Master dies, the Servant immediately dies too. (I know this is different than in the show, shut up ;_; )

Servants
Servants are heroes of legendary power. Compared to a Magician, a Master's strength could be compared to a grenade. In that scale, a Servant's strength would be 100 pounds of TNT. They must protect their Masters and they are the only ones who are strong enough to kill other Servants.
In a spell that takes 5 minutes to cast, Servants can teleport to their Masters from anywhere on the map.
-They answered the summon of their Master because they want to win the Grail War just as much as their Masters do.
-Each Servant will have a Noble Phantasm: A extremely powerful special ability that only you and your Master know about. I will PM Servants their Noble Phantasm to use in the War. These abilities will be devastating, but they will have weaknesses as well.
-If the Servant dies, the Master loses his Command Seals and can no longer participate in the war.

RP Rules
Before I get to the fun stuff, this is an important part. This RP is slightly different than other RPs so listen closely.
-This RP involves lots of combat against other Masters and Servants. I will act as a deciding factor to help the flow of combat. I'll also describe the areas of the story as it progresses and create an alive world for you to interact with--but this is largely up to you to to travel the country and push your masterful plans, preparing and ensuring the success of your battles. I will keep a map of the city updated on the front page. You will be able to move across the map, you will have strongholds to live in that give large advantages while being there, and other things that I'll elaborate
-Masters will be randomly assigned a Servant. Servants want to win the Grail War as well, because they can also have a wish granted by the Holy Grail. This means that they'll really want to make sure their Master survives and wins the war.
-Imagine you're reading a book or a short story. Your posts on the RP must be written in that manner, because we aren't just playing a game. We're telling an epic story. After the RP is said and done, I may compile everyone's posts and turn this into something that resembles a book for everyone to enjoy reading later.

Actions, PvP and Other-Character Interaction
-By the nature of this game, there's going to be a lot of information revealed that your Character has no way of actually knowing. Make sure your Character acts accordingly. Appearing to know things you shouldn't know, acting with information your character doesn't have, or Bad Roleplay of any kind will give you penalties in combat. On the other hand, Realism and Skilled Roleplay gives you Style Points that make your actions in PvP more successful.
-Obviously, you can only control your own character.
-PvP posts are different than others. As long as your opponent isn't hindered, you can control the opponent as much as you want in the name of making the fight exciting and interesting. This racks up Style Points. Style Points can also be gained by preparing for the fight beforehand, countering your opponent effectively and taking them by surprise. The only time you have to stop is when you're actually trying to hurt your opponent.
-Style points are lost by all forms of Bad Roleplaying.

The fun part! There will be different character sheets for Masters and Servants. Don't forget to specify which of the two you are.

ervants don't need to be Magicians, but regardless they have very powerful magic. They may also use magical weapons and have an array of other kinds of powers. Servants are incredibly powerful, so don't be afraid to have fun. They are also not demigods though so keep that in mind.

Other things like the moving on the Map, assaulting other players, preparing for combat and other parts of the "game" will be explained later when we have enough people to start. It will all be pretty simple, but I'd like to avoid overwhelming everyone with all this information for now. Let's just get a cast of players for now.

They may also consume airborne mana created by the spells below. They are fairly fragile and a single hit from any servant should be enough to eliminate them. They are also surprisingly agile.

The Cosmonecron allows Alistair to tap into powers beyond which also allow him to send bolts of cosmic power at opponents at his leisure. These bolts weaken its target [servant/master], leaking the mana it has into the air. Alistair can unleash these bolts through his staff or hand and travel at speeds similar to a bullet at intervals of two per second.

With great need, he may shatter a spell into its raw mana and destroy it but this requires a twice whatever the originator of the spell used from Alistair. This is where the excess mana may be used.

Spacial Binding Spell. Limited to one object at a given time, Alistair can bind an object to its current place in space. The larger the object the greater the toll on mana usage. Same with how long the object kept in its place. The object must be non-magical in nature since it would disrupt the binding. Alistair must concentrate on the target to bind it in place. A speeding bullet is not a concentratable object. Or anything too fast.

Weapon: Staves are his specialty which then branch to spears and halbeards. He always carries one that is of 6 feet in length and is nearly indestructible thanks ot enchantments provided by his Elder Masters. Very powerful spells may shatter it though. Black in appearance, retracts into a three-foot cane.

Who Are you?: Alistair was born in a noble family of mages far in the west. He was taught and mentored by mages of different sorts however, this did not pique the young master's interest. Instead, after finding a peculiar book from a shadowy merchant, he found himself entangled in curiosity as he first opened the Cosmonecron.

Swore an oath in his teens to the Elder Masters that approached him, he vowed to their service in exchange for power beyond his imagining. The Elders never showed their appearance, instead, whispers that never ceased talking to him in his slumber. Plans upon plans dictated into his ears. Upon his coming of age, he summoned the first abberation to call his own. It sapped the mana out of those he thought ill will to and countered magics that were thrown against him. However, the whispers only grew in time and ushered him to find the Grail. Moving to present day, Alistair has grown into a man, having mastered his craft and finally participated in the war.

Personality: Stoic and patient, Alistair waits for the best moment to strike no matter how long it takes. He isn't afraid to get his hands dirty but prefers otherwise. He is influenced by the Elder Masters he serves and may slip a few whispers through his mouth as he speaks, he covers this up as a cough. You may call him eccentric as well.

Appearance: 28 years of age and 5'8" in height. He has short white hair, a mustache and black eyes. He wears a white shirt and black pants underneath a trench coat. He also sports a top hat.

hatever Jett's magic does, it's used to completely embarrass his opponent. He can move objects, throwing them at his opponents to get a good laugh. He only uses actual magic when he is upset--dark magic that can hurt an opponent while simultaneously decay the skin of whatever it touches. This usually comes in the form of small to moderately sized orbs that show up in the palm of his hands and are thrown. Once it hits something, the orbs explode akin to a grenade, sending dark energy around a fifteen foot radius. He has one more passive ability--His perception of fast coming objects is very high, to the point that he can dodge a bullet as long as it isn't from point-blank range.


Weapon: Jett has a sword that materializes within his hand at will.


Who Are you?: Appearance: He usually wears street clothes, a pair of jeans and a T-shirt with a leather jacket around it. His boots are worn and scratched. His skin is slightly tanned, and his sea green eyes have the glimmer that hides something darker.


Personality: Jett is a jokester. He is sarcastic and never seems to act serious. He also loves to antagonize his fellow masters and servants. He uses this as a wall to protect himself--In actuality he's a really nice guy, although nobody really sees it.


Backstory: Jett has no family, and the reason for it is unknown. He sometimes talks about his older brother, but that's the farthest anyone has ever gotten out of him thus far. He seemingly came out of nowhere as an amazing magician and master at the craft. He also hasn't revealed the wish that he desires to make with the Holy Grail.[/spoiler]

Magical Abilities: Summoning and Taming (Portal Opening).
Tyra has the ability to summon any person, beast, weapon, or other object that he has marked before. Marking something requires performing a special ritual within a magical circle drawn on the ground. The target must stay in the circle for the entire duration, which is 30 minutes. He is also a gifted animal trainer and has an innate sense for befriending all types of creatures.

Weapon: A Magical Yoyo with seemingly endless string (He is quite skilled at using it).

Who Are you?:
Tyrannous is a young precocious child of 11 who is the youngest of 7 children and the only son of the current Von Rechtmäßigen Thron family. Despite his family's name, they lost the throne ages ago and so merely live as a reserve family. Should the current throne die, Tyrannous would be called forth to rule.

Despite being named after his grandfather, Tyra is a kind yet quiet child who only talks to people he trusts. He lets down his guard with animals, beasts, and even monsters however as he feels more comfortable with them as well. After getting lost in the forest at age 5, he discovered his magical abilities and practiced them in secret using tomes from his family's library.

His father moved his family to Japan in search of the Holy Grail, only for him, his wife, and three of his daughters to get killed. Unable to go home, Tyra spent the last two years of his life living with his eldest sister Hildegard (31) and the youngest Adele (14). His other sister, the second eldest Katharine(28) had disappeared as soon as the war began to subside.

Being a prodigy, he is naturally precocious and extremely observant. Due to his father's stern raising, he is very well-mannered and extremely humble. In fact, he hates being treated like a child and is extremely uncomfortable being doted upon due to growing up with 7 women.

He has spiky brown hair, piercing green eyes, and typically wears blue robes over his plain looking traveler's clothes with his YoYo strapped to his belt.

So you're a Master? I guess I should have told people to clarify that.
This looks great :) I'm just going to edit to adjust for a Master's power, and keep you on reserve for now like you asked until you confirm you totally do want in.

Name: Erik Blood Fist

Combat Abilities and Equipment: His power is essentially being able to go berserk. This berserking can happen in a number of ways, some of the most common ways being emotional or physical trauma, emotional such as a friend being killed or being insulted, physical being something like enduring an incredible amount of pain or being held back from fighting his enemies. He also has a 10 mushrooms that he can use to enter it, however there is a catch. When he uses the mushrooms, he permanently loses a piece of his sanity. He may stop listening to his Master altogether.

Onto the actual berserkness so to say, when he enters this "stance", his already inhuman strength becomes a hundredfold and his speed increases beyond that of any person, which allows him to match up with any of the other servants, perhaps even surpass them. Any semblance of defending himself gets thrown out the window, as he gives into the rage and bloodlust he harbors. Erik becomes incredibly unfazed by any damage to him, continuing his relentless and aggressive fighting, his rage acting as a placebo for any semblance of determination.

Who are you?: Erik is a guy who is about ten times as strong as a man, is 212 cm tall, with his muscles seemingly oversized for a "regular" person. e wears barely anything, except for some old trousers held up by a some old pants who reach only down to his knees, and bear fur with the head of it holding onto Erik by his head. The fur like it's wearer has been through many battles and has many holes and scratches on its natural beauty. Underneath the bear head he has short curly hair color brown, with a large puffy beard decorating his face, his face being covered in many grotesque and terrifying scars from years of fighting in wars. Of course it's not just his face covered in scars, his revealed chest is covered in many ancient wounds received from axe, sword and spear alike. He has no semblance of any shoes on, going barefoot. He wields no weapons, only using the fists he has to kill his enemies.

Erik was a regular viking, forced to raid and destroy the lands around his home for food and gold, but it was on that fateful day on 1066 during the ambush on the Viking King Harald Hardrada, that he became a berserker. In his rage from his friends and comrades being murdered so unhonorably, knowing they would go down to Hel for not dying in battle, he charged the enemy. With only his fists, he pummeled english soldier after soldier to blood pulps, it was only when there were no more people around that he stopped. The vikings had been massacred, the english had left behind the bodies and left Erik all alone with his dead vikings. Erik cried, and cried, he couldn't stop himself. He got himself up and started to walk towards the short where the vikings had landed.

Lucky for him, he was not the only survivor, a group of them who had slept in the boats during the ambush had survives, as the english apparently never checked the boats. They all set sail back for their home, when they arrived they told of their tale, but not Erik. Erik said nothing of what he had done, he kept silent, but this behavior alerted the local pagan priests who talked to Erik. As Erik knew he could not lie to the men of his gods, he said everything. The priests seemed surprised at his story, looked pitiful at Erik but then smiled. They told him to train as a berserker, to fight with the power of the gods in his veins, to take on strength and speed of the beasts.

After many years of training, he was ready, he had gone through many changes in the time he had been with the priests. He had grown stronger, taller and faster . Erik joined raiding parties whenever he could, murdering and killing all who stood before him with unrivaled wrath, using only his fists as weapons.

In his time, he was known as Erik Blood fist.

One question I need to ask about the servants is their relationship with the Masters. Are servant born/bred to serve Masters, or do they make some sort of a bond between them and their masters at some point during life? Or can this be decided by ourselves?

Servants are independent heroes who lived their own lives as legends and then died. Summoning them for the War temporarily brings them back to life. Their link with their Masters is a link of mutual cooperation to win the Holy Grail's wish.

Edit: Devi your Servant looks good to me. I added some minor things: Erik has a specific number of Mushrooms, taking them permanently takes a bit of his sanity rather than making his bezerk rage more insane, and I just took out the part of seeing his Master as an enemy and replaced it with completely not listening to him.

Interesting! But i dont really catch the idea for the PvP Posts.
Btw i might go in for being a Servant, but the BadRoleplaying part scares me.

How exactly do you become a Bad Roleplayer aside from the obvious?

How exactly do you become a Bad Roleplayer aside from the obvious?

Bad RPing is:
-Acting on information you know but your character doesn't know.
-Pulling tricks out of the air that don't make sense in order to have the advantage in situations
-Controlling other characters in meaningful ways without their consent, or harming them without confirmation from me (I can go more in-depth in PvP posting if you want)

Name: Saidai no Akuma (Translated to "Greatest Demon)
Age: Well Over 300 Years Old. Appearance of 25 year old.

Combat Abilities and Equipment: Can shoot bursts of Hell-Fire and has a high resilience to any type of fire. His speed is beyond that of a normal human's, as well as his strength and stamina. He wears a special mask that covers his left eye and leaves his right eye exposed, the mask has magical properties that when can fuse with Saidai's face, enhancing his Hell-Fire attacks and summoning his weapon, the "Shi no bangādo". Which loosely translates to, "Vanguard of Death". A supposedly demonic scythe that can rip the souls out of its victims. He's extremely well rounded in both long and close quarters combat, he uses the scythe mostly to keep his opponent at a safe distance with strong and vicious horizontal swipes.

Who are you?: Saidai no Akuma was born a demon, no doubts about that. Born into hell under the branded name of Saidai no Akuma, the Greatest Demon. He was born a weapon and combat prodigy. His skills with all weapons and sorcery exceeded what any other demon had ever accomplished. He found he was most accustomed to the scythe as his weapon, and his favorite kind of sorcery was using Hell-Fire.

Exactly what you would expect from a demon, Saidai is completely remorseless in his actions and attitude. This was normal in hell, but now, being on Earth, he's changed his attitude to try and fit in better. To normal humans or Masters, he's very respectful of them and rather monotone around them. To other servants or opponents however, he's cruel, sadistic, and overall a nutcase...

Name: Cesar Fruyd

Magical Abilities: Cesar's main magic power is his ability to create a living creature that he calls a "Grud". Cesar controls this grud and will feel half of what the gruds are feeling, he can control 20 gruds at once.
These gruds are as small as a gnome and has a surprisingly sharp claws. They are half human and half dwarf being, due to it's small size, they are very agile but it has low stamina, they are not easily killed because they have skin as strong as metal but once they die, they explode and thus damaging by a lot Cesar. But if Cesar explodes it to his will, he takes no damage.
Cesar can attach these gruds to anything as defense.
The more Gruds Cesar has, the more his strength increases. With all 20 gruds out, his strength increases tenfold.

He also has the ability to teleport anywhere within his range, but it has a limit because the longer the range, the longer the cooldown and it makes Cesar tired and exhausted. Teleporting will alert all nearby magicians that he is teleporting, and it takes 1 minute of channelling to disappear.

Strength as a Person: Cesar is not really the agile type, but he has a ton of stamina and energy within him to keep in store. Cesar is averagely strong but if amplified with the gruds, his strength will be far more better. Good at quick combos due to being reasonably trained.

Cesar's choice of Weapon: He always carries his trusty Hammer given to him by his friend. It can extend up to 30 meters, but the longer it gets the harder it is to swing.

Cesar's Past: Born as an orphan, Cesar always loved adventuring when he was young, he is the curious and analytic type of person, he always loves to question everything. Then when the Holy Grail war started, he knew he had to go out of the city, away from all the terror. Thus he started his journey to soar the lands and seas, to answer all his questions about Earth, to find out all it's secrets.

Cesar's Looks: He is kinda bulky, He is 7" tall has silver eyes and wears a long robe.

Cesar's Personality: He is a very curious kind, he analyzes things ahead before he does it. Always looks after the ones he needs to and he is stubborn. He sometimes goes for the more quicker way even though it may lead to something bad.

Name: Rocco

Combat Abilities and Equipment: Rocco wields two scimitars that he can increase in size at will. He can also increase their temperature drastically, making them able to cut through even the strongest steels by melting them. However, this tires him out and he can only use it for a few seconds at a time. He is extremely fast, and very agile, being able to get out of many a predicament with ease. He is stronger than the average human, with one punch from him being easily able to knock out, and possibly even kill, a highly fit human. The metal of the scimitars can withstand the blast of a nuclear bomb from point blank due to being protected by magic. He knows various forms of martial arts, but prefers to dispatch his opponents quickly by going in for the kill immediately. He can use Fire magic expertly(as he has trained with it most of his life),as well as having limited use of Wind magic, making him able to push him self extremely high, though he cannot fly. His fire magic can be used as a projectile or as a sort of shield, pushing his opponents away. His Fire magic with his wind magic to increase its strength, although it puts strain on his body. His suit protects him(to an extent) from fire magic.

Who am I?:
Appearance and Personality:Rocco is a tall, slender but intimidating man who tends to not care about his surroundings unless a fight is involved. He normally wears a black suit with black and white striped gloves. In contrast, he has messy red hair and very sharp, bright green eyes. He is calm-tempered, as he will not pick a fight, but if he is physically provoked, he will not hold back. He will usually not take part in idle chat unless he has the chance to make a joke, in which case he will jump at the opportunity. He is very obedient, and if his Master tells him to do something, he will most likely do it without question, unless there is an obvious flaw in logic. However, it is difficult to make him find someone trustworthy, and he is very sceptical when it comes to meeting new people, and he is always on guard. If he is ever tired or injured, he does not show it.

Backstory: Rocco was an orphan with his older brother Zac, and they used to be mischievous in the village that they lived in. They used to do petty crimes, such as stealing a few fruits or pickpocketing a few coins from people before laughing and running away. Zac, being the older brother with more responsibility, used to lead them and had a very outgoing personality. He always used to make light of the situation he was in, cracking a joke or two before running off. One day, a car with odd symbols came into the village. Men in suits came out and walked around the village, seeming to not do anything. Zac, being very reckless, stole a small statue that was inside the car(he was good at breaking locks). The men in suits ran after him and grabbed him by the hands before pinning him to the ground. Rocco watched as the men held a knife to his neck and told him to give the statue back. When he refused, they managed to snatch the statue from his hands by slitting his wrists, and then burned him to death using fire magic. The statue seemed to be source of power, but Rocco didn't care. He walked over to his charred brother, looking at him with wide eyes. He didn't scream or cry, but sat down next to him. The symbols of the dog eating a snake were burnedinto his memory. He took his brothers untouched gloves, and walked away, leaving the body to be found by someone else. He trained in the art of fire magic under an old mage in the mountains, and taught himself limited amounts of wind magic. He would not stop training until he was strong enough to stop anybody from being killed. The Holy Grail War was the perfect place to prove that. However, his team was completely wiped out, leaving him alone against 10 powerful magic users. His body was left to rot, two burning scimitars melting into his body.

Name: Saidai no Akuma (Translated to "Greatest Demon)
Age: Well Over 300 Years Old. Appearance of 25 year old.

Combat Abilities and Equipment: Can shoot bursts of Hell-Fire and has a high resilience to any type of fire. His speed is beyond that of a normal human's, as well as his strength and stamina. He wears a special mask that covers his left eye and leaves his right eye exposed, the mask has magical properties that when can fuse with Saidai's face, enhancing his Hell-Fire attacks and summoning his weapon, the "Shi no bangādo". Which loosely translates to, "Vanguard of Death". A supposedly demonic scythe that can rip the souls out of its victims.

Who are you?: Saidai no Akuma was born a demon, no doubts about that. Born into hell under the branded name of Saidai no Akuma, the Greatest Demon. He was born a weapon and combat prodigy. His skills with all weapons and sorcery exceeded what any other demon had ever accomplished. He found he was most accustomed to the scythe as his weapon, and his favorite kind of sorcery was using Hell-Fire.

Exactly what you would expect from a demon, Saidai is completely remorseless in his actions and attitude. This was normal in hell, but now, being on Earth, he's changed his attitude to try and fit in better. To normal humans or Masters, he's very respectful of them and rather monotone around them. To other servants or opponents however, he's cruel, sadistic, and overall a nutcase...

Because you're already in two other RPs, I'll just have you as a reserve person for now, in case we can't fill up the slots. I really would rather not have someone busy with two other RPs when your Master depends on you so strongly.

I actually haven't been having too much trouble with two RP's at once, but I understand if you'll put me down as a reserve.

By the way, this isn't going by a first-come-first-served thing. If we have too many people, I'll have to pick the best ones out of them: People who I think will be awesome to have in the RP, and whoever has the best characters. The former is way, way more important than the latter though.

Magical Abilities:
Whatever Jett's magic does, it's used to completely embarrass his opponent. He can move objects, throwing them at his opponents to get a good laugh. He only uses actual magic when he is upset--dark magic that can hurt an opponent while simultaneously decay the skin of whatever it touches. This usually comes in the form of small to moderately sized orbs that show up in the palm of his hands and are thrown. Once it hits something, the orbs explode akin to a grenade, sending dark energy around a fifteen foot radius. He has one more passive ability--His perception of fast coming objects is very high, to the point that he can dodge a bullet as long as it isn't from point-blank range.

Weapon:
Jett has a sword that materializes within his hand at will.

Who Are you?: Appearance: He usually wears street clothes, a pair of jeans and a T-shirt with a leather jacket around it. His boots are worn and scratched. His skin is slightly tanned with, and his sea green eyes have the glimmer that hides something darker.

Personality:
Jett is a jokester. He is sarcastic and never seems to act serious. He also loves to antagonize his fellow masters and servants. He uses this as a wall to protect himself--In actuality he's a really nice guy, although nobody really sees it.

Backstory: Jett has no family, and the reason for it is unknown. He sometimes talks about his older brother, but that's the farthest anyone has ever gotten out of him thus far. He seemingly came out of nowhere as an amazing magician and master at the craft. He also hasn't revealed the wish that he desires to make with the Holy Grail.
