Waking up early in the morning, Alex slowly opened "it's" eyes, still laying down facing the sky. Sitting up slowly, "it" tied it's hair back into a ponytail. As "it's" gaze turned forward, it was faced with the sunrise coming over the surprisingly small horizon visible from within the city. Blankly staring at the image, Alex felt a small touch of happiness on the inside, a bit of hope still not lost from "it's" previous life giving the slightest amount of comfort. Raising "it's" hand forward, "it" almost changed the color to be more visible, but then changed "it's" mind. The sight was beautiful as it was. Making any alterations would only give a false sense of goodness to an already splendid image. Things had to be taken as they were, appreciated as they were, and even sometimes left to be as they were. Only then could the world be analyzed in order to be changed for the better. "It" continued to stare at the rising star for a moment, savoring the moment for as long as possible.
Sad... such a wonderful thing in such a horrible, despicable world. Maybe it is the destiny of some to make this light brighter... am I one of those chosen few? Can I even hope to be one? What of the others? How can I trust these people to have good intentions when I know deep down no one is truly pure of heart?
Alex hadn't noticed it before, but not having an overcoat last night had been somewhat cold. Rubbing "it's" arms, Alex got up and started moving down the rooftop towards the edge leading down to Eve's apartment. Once at the dropping point, Alex jumped off, turning around mid air and catching the edge with both hands. Lowering "itself" down, "it" was back in the apartment in moments.
Noticing the others were still asleep, Alex turned it's head to face most of the room. Dante was missing from the balcony... but this wasn't a huge surprise. He obviously wandered about often for various reasons. As was Eric... also missing... Strange. Noticing where Eve was sleeping, "it" immediately whipped "it's" view towards the overcoat still sitting on the floor. Quietly walking up to the folded fabric, "it" gingerly picked it up, putting it back on without making enough noise to wake up any of the others. Now happy to be warm again, "it" moved over to an empty chair and sat down, mimicking sleep with "it's" eyes mostly closed, patiently observing the room until it's other occupants awakened again.
That's it, I'm going to have to consult oracle and get additional help. These people are mostly unreliable, despite my strange liking to them. I can't let feelings like that ruin my goal.
