Let's get some good vibes rolling on this forum.

If you have any positive opinions about any member here, and maybe you need a reason to say it out loud, this is the place to share it! You can say as much as you want about as many members as you'd like. The only rule here is that what you say must be positive. It's always nice to know that some of your actions and beliefs don't go unwarranted. :)

Here's a few from me.

Devour: Hey man just wanted you to know that you are a great writer and I am super supportive of the fact that you've been going at it after all these years. You were literally one of the first friends I made on this forum, way back in '07. Shit have we grown since then. There was even a time there where people always mixed us up (I think some conspired that we were the same person with two different accounts. They'll never know!) It's nice to see you're modding the place up today, administering the place we grew up in. Glad to see you're still actively around, bud.

Arch-Angel: I remember that once upon a time I was asked who I would pick off this forum that I could be roommates with. And I picked you. There's something genuine about the way you act on here that's refreshing. You've also been around a long time but I didn't start warming up to you until a few years in, but nonetheless, I enjoy talking with you.

Hewitt: I think I can happily say that in my personal opinion, you are the best thing that came out of the Merge. You are easily the most contributive member on this forum and your creativity knows no bounds. I remember we had a wRHG battle that went south because of the delays and I ended up making you forfeit unwillingly hahaha. Remember when we kicked some ass talking to Waffles last year on his wRHG opinion thread? Man, you and I agree on a lot. Keep up the activity man, someone has to.

Cruel: I think I can honestly say you're the one person on this forum I've shared a heart-to-heart with. You remind me a lot of myself and I truly hope that what you went through when we had that heart-to-heart isn't lingering. You seem like a really good person and I hope that you're doing well for yourself.

Jeff: I'm very impressed with both your intelligence and handling of responsibility. I know things got a little wild back when you were super-active as the head moderator, but I honestly give you props for keeping your head on straight when people (like me) gave you shit haha.

I've got more, but this is a good start.

PitchEnder: Your polls are great. Also I appreciate you made the Smash Bros Chat. Where would I be without it?

Devour is one of the nicest/kindest people I ever met and he's given me some great emotional support and advice I should have followed way more. I wish I knew you in real life so I can give you a hug.

SpacePunk also helped me with some rough times.

I love all of you anyway.

SJCRPV: Ok, first of all, fuck you with you goddamn name I can never remember the sequence. Why you have to put such a complicated name (for the rest of us, I know what it is)?!?!?
Anyways, Real Talk: you were one, if not the first, guys that I met on SP after the Merge. You really managed to push me towards writing again, even though after all that had happened (FA then handling RHW) I had almost no desire to write again. Your stories are great and you characters are sick (speaking of which, YOU STILL NEED TO DO NITRO NORA!!!!). I still hate you at HS cause of your shitty ass Shaman and Priest decks, but I'm glad I met you. Ty bby C:

TwitchyPidge: I don't think I really have to say much about you: the first person I ever met in this community. About 7-8 years ago, on FA, during an RP. Been friends ever since. Had my back all the time and listened to me for what I had to say. You characters always had an interesting spice to them, which always motivated me to make really deep and fun characters. Honestly speaking, if I wouldn't have met you in that first couple of days of FA, I would have probably never developed the passion for writing and dropped it in a week or so. Thank you.

ErrorBlender: With you I have mixed feelings. To begin with, I remember when you came on FA. Me and Fantomzed recruited you, and we coached you. Then you turn out to be this incredible writing machine that was massacring everybody. My first loss back then was at your hands (to which im still slightly salty, believe it or not, but I'll get my revenge). But you grew up to be a great writer. Bl.An.C is one of my favorite characters, just because of the way you write him. Definitely enjoy reading your works, so keep your shit together and keep going.

There might be a couple more, but I just woke up and coffee hasn't kicked in.

The what thread? What's a compliment?

Edit:

Exile: Congrats on being an all-time member and being active for over 10 years. A good mod and a pretty nice guy who remains fairly clear-headed. Not a lot of people who I feel are genuinely kind, but he seems pretty swell.

Maybe the weekend will have this take off nicely?

[spoiler=]
Xate: I enjoyed our fights and battles. Honestly, you've been growing as a writer! Its nice as I've first handedly seen your stories grow, they've become more fleshed out and increasingly better. I look forward when we can do battle again. Seriously though, I miss our old chats where we just speculate on story paths and how it could happen - RP even a bit.

acutelatios: I remember our challenge then and I hope its still up! I've always looked up to how you wrote, everyone in Freeborn too. When I wrote our prototype battles back in FA, I had to keep cross checking your page since I wanted to be sure of it. It ran through a lot of drafts and even until now I'm not satisfied. Then, you were my writing role model, in all honesty. You still are actually, its just that my role models have expanded to other people too :)

Keep writing, you legendary pokemon.

DelorMaximus: I respect you, dude. As a leader, you got us through a clan war, mentored your members and wrote well. One of the first guys to trust in my ability too. I thank you for that. You write well as well, I was actually surprised when I beat you, I didn't expect it and honestly thought I was going down. Either way, thanks for the memories and I hope we can make a bit more :D

RichardLongflop: I used to dislike your attitude in all honesty but I learned to see the fun in it. After lots of times talking with you, I began to respect your ideas and saw sense in it. Personally, I try not to argue [kind of my nature] since it was your opinion. I agreed to an extent though. Right now, you're one of the friends I can say I'd like to meet IRL. Like the guys up there.

The answer is psychological.

A thread created to pat each other in the back carries in itself alot of subliminal implications. Circlejerking. Favortism. The feeling of being unloved if you aren't mentioned. and so on.

I created RTU and Let's Talk About, specifically to counter this. If you showcase 1 or 2 Users every week, the barriers of bias are obliterated. Comment creators get to focus their energy on 1 or 2 at a time, without having to draft a list yourself and wonder who got left out. And the Users themselves being scrutinized are assured that there will always be someone who's going to talk about them within the unavoidable span of the week. And because fewer content shifts in long durations, the thread itself is there to stay, which lulls anyone posting in it to come back time and time again to review previous commentaries recorded and slated on the front page for posterity.

I'm not saying this thread is a failure. I'm just stating why it appears to, when it's been proven that if Users are asked to evaluate another they will readily do so under certain circumstances.

As Error would say, maybe this will pick up later.

Pretty much. I like a whole lot of people on SP, and I either have to write equally detailed things for like 20 people, or make someone sad that I forgot them :p
