A little smile growing on his face, Sora sat up in his seat next to Kyle and Jacques, fellow members of the Student Council. Looking around at all the new and old students, he began to get excited at the idea of meeting all the newly initiated members of the school. Figuring it was about time for the main section of the event, he pulled off his baseball cap and laid it down on his lap as he waited patiently for the speech to begin.

Sitting on Sora's right, Kyle continued to play Jar Jar's Adventures, Pod Racing Legend on his mobile phone. Completely ignoring everyone else around him, he giggled slightly to himself when he passed by the virtual finish line for the 143rd time. He had been playing the game non-stop since he woke up in the morning, and had no intent of pausing anytime soon.

Noticing Sora getting a bit excited and Kyle doing his usual of absolutely nothing productive, Jacques raised an eyebrow at the Sophomore sitting on his right, "So, you two ready for the new year?" Despite the warm smile on his face, his raised eyebrow began to twitch when his gaze switched to Kyle, who continued to ignore him, instead focusing on that horrid racing game of his again.

"Kyle... we talked about this... the President is about to give her speech. You're a member of the Student Council! Pay attention!" Jacques slowly began to glare at Kyle with a growing amount of venom in his eyes.

"YEAH! Plus twenty thousand three hundred forty points! That's almost my recor- Oh wait what?" Kyle turned to look at Jacques again. Staring at him for a short moment with a dull, emotionless expression, he suddenly turned back to his game without another word.

Composing himself again despite Kyle's continued insolence, Jacques turned back to Sora, "As I was saying, are you content so far with the new year?"

After watching what Jacques said to Kyle, Sora was quick to reply, "Oh... yeah, it's really great! Thanks man!"

Satisfied with Sora's answer, Jacques suddenly noticed a specific shorter individual walking up to the podium in the center of the auditorium out of the corner of his eye. Turning to face forward again, he pointed formally for both Sora and Kyle to look at the figure.

"There she is, it appears as if the speech is about to start. I hope you two are ready."

Surprisingly, Kyle looked up from his game for once to see where Jacques was pointing. Forgetting to hit the pause button, the virtual image of the vehicle on the phone's screen suddenly exploded into small little bits as it collided with a virtual rock formation obstacle.

"Darnit! I was almost at the score peak too! Alright alright... I'll pay attention to the Pres. for a bit I guess..." Kyle shrugged his shoulders over in mock despair, lazily staring forward at the center of the auditorium expectantly.

Now all sitting forward, the trio stared down at the podium the President was now stepping onto.

In a hurried rush, a small figure moved to the front of the stage, and went up to the podium and microphone. Unabashedly, she moved in a extra step for height and pulled the microphone a few inches down. In a hushed voice she spoke barely audible gibberish, only after a moment realizing that the Microphone was off. Face flushing red, she switched the microphone on and began to speak.

"Ah...Welcome back to Kadic Academy for the Spring Semester. I promise I won't keep your time anymore with this but it's kind of a tradition to do this everytime we...uh...start a new Semester. Its a formality so...you know," she trailed on.

"So anyway, I'd like to welcome our new students and welcome back our old students. Dorm and Class assignments will remain unchanged this time...no wait...classes have been changed around a little...everyone can find their classes and rooms outside. As usual class will start in the Afternoon after Lunch and Homeroom, so that everyone can move back in and get settled. The School Dance will be in three weeks, followed by Study Week and then Final Exams. Any more announcements will be uh...announced later. Lets have...a great spring and finished the school year strongly! Oh and ummm...Student Council needs to meet in the club room after this!"

The loud clamor returned as the crowd dispersed as various clubs and cliques spread out into the courtyard. Both new students and old headed out to the halls to see what the class and dorm assignments were.

In the general commotion of people walking in and out, and talking, she didn't hear someone approaching. Aiko didn't warn her either, so when someone touched her shoulder, she almost got scared. She closed her book, but left one finger inside, between the pages, to be able to come back to it later. Facing the source of the voice, she smiled slightly and answered.

"Hm? Oh, yeah. Sure, go ahead."

Meanwhile Aiko was starring at the boy with his red eyes, turning his head left and right, giving Chi quick relation on who was she dealing with.

"Male. Tall. Blonde, funny hair. Grey T-Shirt. Black shirt over it. Jeans...Piercings..." She didn't had to ask him to do it, he was always doing it by himself, each time she was talking with someone new.

"Funny hair?" Discretely, Chi was tapping her book cover, asking Aiko for details, unfortunately, the answer was interrupted by the speech, or...whatever that was... Once it was over, once more she smiled to the person that sat next to her, got up, and lead by Aiko, she left the room.

"Can you check my schedule, please?" She whispered, and a second later, the bird left her shoulder, flew to the board with postings, and hung in the air like a humming-bird, scanning the whole thing down. When he was back, he told her everything that she needed to know.

"So i am sharing a room now...oh...great... A slight grimace appeared on her face on that thought. "I really hope it won't be one of "those" girls... She sighed.

"Anyway, shall we go to the dorms?" After this request, following Aiko's instructions she headed in the direction of her room.

Nil heads out with the crowd, going to check his schedule. Not really recognizing anyone on it, he puts in his other earbud, drowning out the world as he goes to find an empty spot in the courtyard to relax at.

Vath had taken his seat at the back of the orientation, as he was accustomed to doing. He paid attention to whenever they spoke about Juniors or other matters that would involve him, but spent most of his time studying an ancient copy of Sir Walter Scott's Perevil of the Peak, one of that author's most obscure books but an interesting and thought provoking analysis of sociology, politics, and emotions, in his mind. When it drew to a close, he rose and gingerly wrapped the fragile book in a silk cloth and stowed it in his leather hip-pouch.

As he walked to his first class, he noticed that he was drawing stares. They probably thought his clothing a bit eccentric...but he was a transfer, after all. Besides, it was hard enough for him to make ends meet paying for his own apartment off campus..."stylish" wardrobes were certainly not in his budget. He took a seat in the middle of the small classroom, clearly a bit ahead of the other students. It mattered little.

He pulled out his smartphone and tapped on a Josh Groban album -- Illuminations. He leaned back and closed his eyes, waiting for class to begin.

It was a shame he couldn't talk to her as the speech interrupted their chat and then everyone dispersed to different locations. He reached to stop her and ask for her name but stopped. She seemed to be in a hurry so he didn't want to bother her, so he decided to find the home economics room. He wanted to join the cooking club, and perhaps bake pastries for his siblings. She was a pretty looking girl, and she seemed polite enough. He hoped he would get along well with her as well as others, but he was afraid his appearance would trouble people and attract unwanted attention. Speaking of unwanted attention, he realized he still had his skateboard with him and made sure to keep it close as to not get in other's ways. He strolled the hallways, greeting other students with a smile and a slight nod until he found the room he was looking for. He walked in and stared at the countless stations, all lined up and cleaned. Fashioned with their own personal stove and range, and cabinets he was sure was filled with kitchen equipment. He walked up to the stationed teacher. "Hello, I would like to join the Cooking Club. My name is Nathaniel Oscar DuFrayn." He offered his right hand for a handshake with his skateboard tucked under his left arm.

What a waste of time.

Vinny stood up from his seat, putting on one strap from his book bag and walking towards the exit, pushing any rowdy students out his way. Turning the corner, he found the posting that held the information he needed. 2nd floor, Descartes Hall. He searched down the list looking for name and room, only to find another name paired with his. Sora Serafin. "Who's this joker?" He sighed as he stuck his hands in his pocket, walking up the stairs to his floor. He watched all the students he passed, and so far none of them looked like someone he'd hang around. He needed people who looked menacing, if he wanted to be the big boss of this school, little wimps won't cut it.

He turned another corner, finding his room down the hall. "Alright, maybe this Sora guy will be the person I need." He said as he walked into the room. Empty. He sighed, walking in and unpacking his belongings and crashing on his bed. "A nap doesn't sound like a bad idea."

He had no roommate. A strange feeling of loneliness, yet relief flickered in his mind, before he put it away.
He began to walk to his room, before he remembered the cooking club.
He started heading their way, writing down a introduction. One hand he scribbled down, the other absently fiddled with an ace.
People began to move away from him as he approached, as if he had a bad aura around him.

Walking down the hall, the Student Council trio began a short conversation as they made their way to their scheduled meeting.

"Alright, you two know the drill. We'll just make our way to the meeting an- ... KYLE!" Jacques exploded, staring in disbelief at the fellow Junior who has now back to cluelessly playing on his phone.

"Eh?" Kyle failed to look up from his game as he continued to walk forward, almost bumping into another student walking the other direction.'

It was barely a moment before Jacques contained his anger again into his usual, more graceful composure, "You leave me no choice then... you incompetent dimwit" Jacques whispered the last words to himself as he walked in front of Sora to suddenly be behind Kyle, who was walking in the front. Still clueless to his surroundings, a hand slowly reached towards Kyle as he kept walking down the hallway. Quickly snatching away the phone, Jacques felt a burst of triumphant relief he hid his emotions under a expertly constructed poker face as he slid the source of Kyle's distraction into the pocket of his dark grey dress pants. With an innate sense of classy figurative style, he swiftly started walking down the hall again as if the incident had never happened. Twirling around, Jacques winked at a girl passing by as he stepped back behind Sora again, causing the her to blush a rosy red before continuing the other way.

"Ah c'mon man what the h#ll... the school's going to hear about this!" Kyle pouted, face a mixture of disappointment and deliberate realization of the loss of his trusty mobile device.

"You know something... Kyle? I AM the school. More specifically, we are practically staff as it stands. You will get your phone back once you have learned a short lesson on moderation, not before." Jacques grinned, radiating a fantastic aura of confidence as he spoke.

While Sora was actually somewhat sorry for Kyle, the short show Jacques had made out of it was awe inspiring to observe at the least. Staying quiet for the time being, he figured Jacques was right about Kyle's gaming problem. He himself had seen the results it put on his grades and social life. Putting his hands in his pockets as he continued to stroll forward, he decided he would ask the other members of the Student Council to remind him of the next Kendo club meeting so he could meet up with his friends to practice after getting to know his apparent roommate. He didn't understand how or why, but for some reason he had a unpleasant feeling that something unusual was about to happen.

Staying quiet for the rest of the walk, the trio found the door to the club room standing open. It appeared as if the other members had already arrived. The President sat at the head of the table. Smile lit brightly on her face, she tried to be welcoming towards the other three entering the room. On the far right end was the Vice President, who was at the time nonchalantly going over notes sprawled out in front of her. Walking in, the three friends took their respective seats and waited for the president sitting at the head of the table to start the meeting. Launching one last hopeful glance at Jacques in an attempt to win back his phone, Kyle was shot down with the barrier of the fancy student's emotionless face paying no heed to his plea. Grumbling quietly to himself, Kyle looked down at his hands now crossed over in front of himself on the table.

Quickly sitting next to the Vice President, Sora shined a friendly smile back at the President for a short moment before lifting himself up to a straight posture in his seat as he waited for her to speak.

After the entire album finished, Vath pulled out his earbuds and checked his smartphone's clock.

"Hmph. I guess I missed a memo I should have paid attention to in today's schedule. Oh well...time to take a look around the classroom."

He stood and stretched his lithe form, then strode carefully around the space, absorbing every little detail. The architecture was pleasant, but not particularly original, innovative, or ornate. Furnishings were equally nice-but-mundane in styling. A small case of books stood at an angle behind the teacher's desk. Unable to determine which one would be their text, he searched until he found a collection of Robert Burn's poetry in an old unabridged edition, extracted it, then returned to his seat. The minutes quickly passed as he absorbed the warm brogue verses, analyzing their structure, meter, style, devices, and the like. Checking the table of contents, he chuckled as he noticed that this collection included Burn's poetry book The Merry Muses of Caledonia, and flipped to that section, laughing quietly as he perused the humorous tavern poems.

"Ah...thank's for coming everyone...This meeting shouldn't take too long, We've just got do the club budget allocations over again...and umm, Kyle what else?"

Kyle didn't respond and was instead hunched over the table starting at what should have been his phone but instead was nothing but air. Jacques was about the reprimand him, when a pencil flew at his head from across the room.

"Ha!"

He caught the pencil right before his head, triumphantly bragging.

"Not this time, Ly-"

Another Pencil pegged him from the side of his head as Lyora had thrown another one some how, despite still looking at her notes.

"Answer the question," she ordered from him, without even looking up at him.

Kyle sighed at the futility and pulled out his notebook which he began flipping to minutes of the last meeting.

"The only other thing is well, just that for now Frenchy, the budget stuff is just like for new equipment, flyers, stuff like that ya know?"

Sora suddenly remembered what he wanted to ask the others, "Hay... uh... sorry to be off topic, but before we get started, do any of you know when the next Kendo club meeting is? I would check the boards, but I didn't quite have enough time to do so on my way here." Sora put his hands together and twiddled his thumbs, hoping they wouldn't ask why he was asking such a question.

They're going to figure out eventually... I should just tell them...

"Ummm...Since it's a half day, they shouldn't be any real club activities Sora, just recruitment?" answered Frenchy meekly.
Lyora spoke up for her.
"Honestly, Sora she said so in the meeting, what kind of student council member doesn't pay attention during school meetings?" she argued at him, while staring daggers at Kyle.
"Just because you like them Sora, doesn't mean they're going to get any special treatment, unless of course there is something special going on with Kendo?"

"Well... no... I just... well honestly I've been going there for a while now... since I came to this school actually... I didn't want to tell you all because I figured it would be a bit weird for someone like me who isn't any good with swords to participate with people in a club like that." Sora fidgeted in his seat, "Truth is... I like using staffs. There wasn't really a club for that sort of thing... and I think I'm pretty good at it. Some of the members of the Kendo group have been helping me practice in my free time." Sora leaned back in the chair, face a somewhat solemnly hopeful that the others would understand.

"So you...you want to leave?" asked Frenchy, eyes waterring ever so slightly.
"There's the door," added Lyora, pointing at it despite looking back down at her notes.
"It's ok...I guess...I'm still pretty new at this..."
"Trust me, Frenchy its not you, its him. Let him go play with his fancy sticks."

"Well...it's not against the rules to be in two clubs at once, " pondered Jacques, "But in my experience, most clubs are time sinks, Student Council even moreso. Also Sora, you don't know Ms. K as well as I do...She's nice to you, you know cause you're a visitor, but when you're a member, she won't tolerate absences."

"Ah, it's almost time to go," Kyle chimed in.

"Make it quick."
